Rick Santorum turns heat on Newt Gingrich in Florida (pout alert)
Politico ^ | 1-22-2012 | James Hohmann

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.— Rick Santorum kicked off his Florida campaign here Sunday by aiming directly at Newt Gingrich. “It’s great to be glib, but it’s better to be principled,” the former Pennsylvania senator told a crowd of more than 200 standing in a hot parking lot of a strip mall in this town outside Fort Lauderdale.

Santorum dismissed the idea that the South Carolina primary reshaped the race into a Gingrich-Mitt Romney face-off. Saturday’s results could very quickly be overshadowed by the Jan. 31 Florida primary, in which he’s hoping to reemerge as a factor. “You have three candidates who can be president. That wasn’t the case moving into South Carolina,” he added, referencing Jon Huntsman and Rick Perry’s withdrawal from the race. “Florida can now step back and say, ‘Okay…who is the candidate that we here in South Florida should put our seal of approval on?

Why when Newt’s many concubines is FAR mors interesting! /s

The sick and twisted attacks on Santorum are getting grotesque....I expected as much from LIEberals, not conservatives. The more I learn about Newt and his supporters the more disgusted I become.

There is no place in this world for such commentary...It’s the same tact that I was disgusted by for an opening of a debate.

Newt supports federally-funded abortion (in cases of rape and incest - his words not mine), there’s video out there as well...

Asked on the CBS News program “Face the Nation” whether he agrees with Republicans who oppose federal abortion payments in cases of rape or incest or to protect the life of a mother, Gingrich said: “No. First of all, I think you should have funding in the case of rape or incest or life of the mother, which is the first step.”

Santorum doesn’t...try twisting that to suit your agenda.

“The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally — not a 20 percent traitor.” - George Washington

I have yet to determine if Newt is above or below that 80%, but many of his supporters are certainly falling short.

Aren’t you your ex-wife’s ex husband?... ;-)

Nope. I'm referring to her more recent ex-husband. She's such a catch that there are three of us now. ;-)

He's like those libertarians who are just thrilled to be able to defeat a conservative and enable a liberal democrat to win a race, thereby f*ing over their neighbors.

And you're doing anything different?....please explain.

BTW, who wears sweater vests anymore?

Head coach Jim Tressler made them famous at Ohio State until last year...you saw what the NCAA did to him...

Well, I think that’s my point.

He is so critical of Newt’s moral mis-deeds but he could forgive his wife hers.

Go back in time about 10 years and post the headline Coulter wants Romney and FR Gingrich. It is insane.Who ever told you Santorum was any more “establishment” than Gingrich lied to you.Gingrich and Santorum are on the same side. The ones that were the LEAST DC Insider, tea party candidates were bashed and spat upon.Palin said Santorum should stay in and I have tremendous respect for her and how she just recently shared her political views. She was professional, had humility in a quiet defeat and was classy. She would not waste time making numerous threads name calling Santorum. No need to bash Santorum. So why is it that yet again people are bashing another conservative? The very same people that would jump off a cliff if Palin said to yet again don’t listen and make crap up as they go along?Don’t forget the build up of Cain.No one thought he would fall.

If you spit at Santorum and Gingrich gets Caininized who remains?

Support who you want. It's a free country. Sort of. But if you can't see a difference between obama and Gingrich then you really need to just go to a movie on election day and forgeddaboud voting. You will only add to random error if you vote.

So far we have three candidates who each won once of the primaries.

Nice try Senator. You lost South Carolina to Newt by more than the total of all votes in Iowa. Newt won SC by more than your vote total in all of NH. The 600 thousand votes from SC dwarf the tiny little turn outs in those other two states.

This is not a three way tie. Not even close.

Ron, methinks you totally missed Reagan’s point. He was just demonstrating how absurd Santorum’s attacks are by making an absurd one back. How did it taste?

Mmm...

A presidential election is actually 50 state elections, not one popular vote. Electoral college and all...

You missed the point by, oh, maybe ten miles.

The point is FIRE ON OBMA LITTLE RICKY - not on each other.

Newt who FAILED as speaker, who broke spending caps and was tossed out for spending too much money.

Tell me you DO know you're making this shit up, right? Do you know anything about Newt's accomplishments as Speaker? I can forgive a 22 year old skull full of mush, IF he acknowledges his ignorance...

I didnt say that. I said I see no difference in how the presidencies of the Romney/Newt/Santorum would be conducted. So, to me, it doesnt matter who gets the nomination. I think they will all put in decent justices, whether by wanting to or bending to politics. I think they will all three continue to wage a manned war against terrorism. I think they will all three sign the repeal of Obamacare if presented. I think they will all three do some minor tweaking, but not change the scope of government in a significant way. Since two of those are better than what Obama will do, I will vote for the Republican nominee, and take the small victories.

Well, we ain’t in a Presidential electoral college election yet.

BUT, I’ll take your bait. So look at delegates then, the closest thing to an equivalent of the elctoral college. Newt way ahead of Rick. WAY AHEAD.

Any way you score it, this is not a three way tie nor anything close to resembling one.

Santorum apparently has a tin ear regarding how much his recent personal attacks are driving people away from him...
