Newt Brings Gaelic Fury To The GOP Race
American Thinker ^ | 1/23/2012 | James G. Wiles

"Kit" Daugherty's fine broth of a boy just upended Republican politics.

Newt Gingrich's winning streak may not last. But, until then, American voters have front row seats to enjoy something very old. Julius Caesar's troops experienced it when they landed in Britannia in 55 B.C. CNN's John King just experienced it too. And he's still walking funny - which is a lucky break for him.

After South Carolina's GOP primary, Mitt Romney's missing a few teeth.

How did this happen? Well, Governor Romney, shake hands with Gaelic fury.

The Gaelic Fury is Newt Gingrich, son of Kathleen Daugherty and one Newton Leroy McPherson. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Newt was raised by his Mom and stepdad after his parents divorced. Most honorably, Gingrich's step-father adopted Newt and gave him his name.

Newt proudly calls the late Robert Gingrich (a career Army officer) his father. And, just as, until recently, only the Italians knew Rick Santorum was Italian, most people don't know that Newt Gingrich is a son of the Emerald Isle. Besides being a politician, Gingrich is a former college professor and a very learned man - an Emory graduate, with a Masters and a Ph.D from Tulane. That, too, is only fitting for a man whose birth parents' ancestors came from the Land of Saints and Scholars.

In these GOP debates, Kit's boy has truly come home. In 2009, Newt even became a Cath'lic.

Hit 'im again!

GO NEWT!

My prayers belong to Newt Gingrich!

IMHO, Newt is going to sweep the primaries because he speaks to both the hearts and heads of Americans...and does so with gusto.

Romney speaks to neither (but he looks awfully presidential staring off at the horizon, eh?).

It’ll be interesting to see at what point Gingrich’s bloodline meets up with Reagan’s. Some genealogist will let us know before too long. Maybe even connect them to O’Bama.

Gaelic Fury To The GOP Race

Gaelic blood is very common among US Presidents: Barky, Clinton, Andrew Jackson, James Polk, James Buchanan, Ulysses Grant, William McKinley, John F. Kennedy, and one of the best: Ronald Reagan.

God invented alcohol to keep the Irish from taking over the world.

When Newt converted back to Catholicism, he said he experienced an inner peace he had never know before.

Next time Rick says anything about being “Grandiose” Newt needs to say: “Rick you're proud of your Italian heritage. Let me give you mine. Doughtery-Macpherson-Gingrich......Enough said.”

Scots Irish helped win the Revolutionary War. They hated the British. More of them volunteered than any other group (based on an article I read several years ago).

A bull mastiff -- without lipstick!

Bred by English gamekeepers in the 19th to assist in guarding estates, the Bullmastiff is known as the Gamekeeper's Night Dog.

Scotch/Irish blood is common and revered in the South, but not the one in the pic.

Some of my ancestors just missed his path. Were later literally burned out of AL during Reconstruction, for resisting the corrupt occupation criminals.

They went GTT. Been here ever since.
