NBC moved to bolster its comedy lineup Monday, picking up three humor-oriented projects including the the new project from Roseanne Barr, an individual familiar with the pickups confirms to TheWrap.

"Downwardly Mobile," which sees Barr coming back to the small screen after the cancellation of her Lifetime reality show "Roseanne's Nuts," is a multi-camera comedy that stars Barr as the operator of a mobile-home park who acts as a surrogate mother to the financially-strapped tenants of the park.

"Go On" ... follows a sportscaster who's attempting to get over a loss and finds unexpected comfort from the other members of his group-therapy sessions.

The third comedy, "Animal Kingdom" ... follows "a 'House'-like veterinarian, who loves animals but usually hates their owners."

Watching a slob run a trailer park ... a Howard Cosell wannabe talk to a shrink ... and a Cesar Millan clone gripe about dog owners hardly seems like a winning stratedy.

I would think that a way to get sure-fire ratings would be to give her 1/2 an hour a week to speak on any subject that she pleases.

Our friends at NBC are again demonstrating why GE dumped the sick bird on ComCast ping.

I wish them well. I had to look up NBC tonight in the TV Guide to find out what channel they are on my satellite deal so I could watch the debate. Really. Who actually watches this dreck?

The only way that line up of programming could be any worse is if NBC added a remake of "My Mother the Car" with Al Sharpton playing the Jerry Van Dyke role.

“Humor oriented”!!!!! Way to go out on a limb with that description. Wow. It might be mildly oriented on amusing area of the spectrum.

Roseane in a trailer park. Yes, that is typecasting.

They were in the Executive conference, room sweating bullets for ideas on how to connect with the American people to improve their dismal ratings and someone says, “Hey lets get Roseanne Barr!”

I rarely presume to speak for everyone, but I’m gonna go out on a limb here and do so. So, I think I speak for all of us when I say ... “UGH!”

I wonder what the gay character count is for the shows.

Isn’t the minimum up to about half now?

With a bit more work they may just be able to take fifth place!
