Warren Buffett’s Secretary to Sit with Michelle Obama at State of the Union
The Blaze ^ | 1/24/12 | Christopher Santarelli

The Obama campaign has found its Joe the Plumber.

President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address Tuesday night is expected to emphasize economic inequality, appropriately timed coming off the Occupy Wall Street fall leading up to Tuesday’s release of frequent Republican front-runner Mitt Romney’s tax returns which reveal that the multi-millionaire pays an effective tax rate of 13.9 percent. To hammer home the political game that the Obama campaign has been playing, billionaire Warren Buffett‘s longtime secretary will be joining first lady Michelle Obama in her seating section during tonight’s speech.

The guest choice is significant because Buffett’s secretary, Debbie Bosanek, has become the embodiment of the Obama campaign’s central theme in 2012; appeal to middle-class populism disgusted by the excess of the “one percent” in the midst of economic distress.

The central discussion in politics over the summer revolved around the president’s failure to bring both sides together effectively during the debt-limit crisis and subsequent credit downgrade by Standard & Poors, all on top of continued high levels of unemployment and economic uncertainty well into the Democratic President’s first term. Then on August 14 came Buffett’s now infamous New York Times op-ed “Stop Coddling the Super-Rich.”

“My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress. It’s time for our government to get serious about shared sacrifice,”

Why doesn't Obama just lower the secretary's tax rate down to 13.9%?

Or why doesn't Warren Buffett simply pay her more money?

Berkshire Hathaway hasn't paid a dividend in something like 40 years. The reason? So that shareholders don't have to pay the double taxation of corporate taxes and dividends.

If Mitt's income came from dividends, he should pay $0 in taxes. Or if dividend income is to be taxed as ordinary income, then the corporation shouldn't pay taxes on its earnings. Either way would be fine with me.

Using the State of the Union speech to campaign. If we had a “second” party they’d boycott the speech.

Why not . At least we don’t have to fly him to the Capitol.

We have been flying him all over the United States for the last 3 years while he campaigned

So, if the rich were taxed the same tax rate at the middle class workers, how much more tax revenue would it bring in?

Warren Buffet should know that it would be a mere drop in the bucket. If the rich were taxed at the same rates they were taxed a half century ago, they’d be paying some $350 billion more this year in federal taxes.

Today, the rich earn much of their incomes on capital gains and dividends, which are taxed at around 15%. In the late 1980s, such incomes were taxed at 35%. The question is, should we go back to the higher tax rates just so we can extract more money to pay off the debt, or is there a consequence for that action that would offset the increased tax revenue?

Hey Hussein! How about tracking down Peggy Joseph!?

Or, maybe some of the fake journalists in America can do that...see if Peggy is riding that gravy train with biscuit wheels now that her hero Hussein has been in power 3+ years.

Debbie Bosanek, has become the embodiment of the Obama campaign’s central theme in 2012

Well Debbie, get ready to get tossed like a used condom once you've fulfilled your purpose (cf. Cindy Sheehan).
