You have expressed many of my feelings as well. I am a longtime listener to Glenn's radio program and I subscribe to his GBTV network. Lately, I have found it increasingly difficult to listen to his extended rants against Newt Gingrich - not because I think Newt lacks risks and problems as a candidate, but due to the disproportionate nature of Beck's responses to him.

There is something deeply personal about Beck's distaste for Gingrich and I think he is being (uncharacteristically) dishonest in avoiding the source of his dislike for the man. Mitt Romney is clearly and by any reasonable measure far more of a liberal Progressive than Newt, and yet, Beck continues to claim otherwise for reasons about which he is not coming clean with his audience - and which they deserve to hear.

Follow the money.

Although I think the Mormon connection (which is likely a money connection as well) is part of it; and Beck may have fallen off the wagon.

Whatever the reason or justification, his actions now will undermine his past performances, where he educated the public about Alinsky, Cloward-Piven, etc.
