Organizers with several Wisconsin Tea Party groups say they have thousands of volunteers ready to check the validity of signatures to recall Gov. Scott Walker and other GOP leaders.

Organizers with We the People of the Republic and The Wisconsin Grandsons of Liberty held a press conference Tuesday at the state Capitol to announce about 11,000 people have pledged online to check for fraudulent signatures through an online system.

The groups are working with a Texas-based group to create the database program that will allow volunteers to check the signatures from home. They will receive webinar training to check for signs of fraud.

The groups, which call themselves bipartisan, say they're looking for duplicate names and incorrect addresses.

This is a target rich environment. Over 1 million signatures submitted from a state with a population of around 5 million . . . total.

Lots of Mickey Mouse, Jacques Strapp, Im a Nut, etc.

Good deal.

Personally I think more things like this should be done by citizens anyway and yes I include lefties. After all, if both sides are doing the checking, there isn’t much chance that any names will slip through.

Excellent. The biggest benefit is to expose the treachery of the left. There will probably still be more than enough valid signatures. The negative publicity from the large numbers of invalid signatures will be a black eye on the left. This effort will drive the left in a fit of fury. How dare anyone question their treacherous ways!

My niece told me last year that they were collecting signatures on campus at WMU here in Michigan.

A good way for people who want to be politically active for our side to get involved but don’t have a great deal of time or means.

“...Wisconsin Tea Party groups say they have thousands of volunteers ready to check the validity of signatures...”

Hope it takes the same amount of time as the Gore ‘chad check’ from 2000.

I hope they have multiple people checking each entry as well. If there are any leftists in the group, they will corrupt the system.

I hope they are screening the screeners.

The tea party groups will have at least 3 sets of eyes scrutinizing each signature. I hope they (we) pay attention to the dates and the handwriting. I suspect that about half of these signatures were gathered outside the permissible time period with the dates filled in later. I’m sure that’s how they got 340,000 signatures in 3 days.
