Judging by tonight’s debate, Rick is not dropping out of anything except maybe the scurrilous backbiting which he denounced publicly from the stage.

Rick Santorum is a very moral man. He’s doing great this evening. he has sewn up quite a few of the constituencies: the old folks (introducing his 93 years young mother, who is a Florida resident.)

The prolife people: he has had them ever since he went down there to try to save Terri Schiavo’s life.

The family people, by his good example.

The Hispanics, by ripping Obama for being on the side of Castro and Chavez.

etc.

Watch Rick jump 10 points this week. Points will be taken away from Newt and Paul.

He did pretty well in the debate. I thought CNN was deliberately teeing up some of those early questions for his benefit since some of them were in areas where I’d heard him speak knowledgeably before like Central America. I would think pounding Caribbean dictators would appeal to Cubans. He’s going to get a thumping on FR today, because I’m sure he pulled some votes from Newt last night. He nailed Romney on Romney care. Even the Newt supporters had to like that. Still, they’ll be out here calling him everything in the book.
