How many children can say they have had lunch with the First Lady?
Parklawn Elementary School students were joined Wednesday by First Lady Michelle Obama, who visited the school during lunchtime to unveil new national health standards for school cafeteria meals.
When we send our kids to school, we expect that they wont be eating the kind of fatty, salty, sugary foods that we try to keep them from eating at home, Obama said during a meeting with parents and press in Parklawns library before having a turkey-taco lunch with second- and fourth-grade students in the cafeteria.
The schools menu Wednesday ground turkey tacos with Mexican brown rice, black beans and corn salad, and a side serving of fruitwas designed from a recipe by celebrity chef Rachael Ray, who also ate lunch with students. Both Obama and Ray went through the lunch line with students, and sat for lunch surrounded by children in the Parklawn cafeteria.

How many kids did Moochelle Antoinette eat?
I’d like to knopw how many clean-platers there were.
You put a plate of rice and beans in front of most kids, it’ll probably end up as spoon-powered projectiles,
I would pull my children out of school before I’d allow them to eat ground turkey from who knows where! Ground turkey in bulk from institutional suppliers is more likely to contain bacteria than many other foods. Indeed, a large of amount of ground poultry was recalled not long ago.
Not a good idea to buy those big rolls of ground beef at groceries, either, for the same reason.
And what right does the federal gov have to tell me or my children what they should eat? None.
same thing with all those fresh veggies.
Who gets the blame when half of a states schoolchildren are exposed to a bad batch of lettuce because the gubmint required it to be bought?
"Being First Lady of the United States is hell!"
What's this we s**t from the wookie? Her daughters attend the finest private prep school in the District. It probably has a four-star cafeteria. But no vouchers for you common folk, lest we offend the NEA.
