Dole would know about landslides from the inside, given he’s still digging out from his LAME campaign of mush.

And yet, somehow, the CONSERVATIVE part of me doesn’t think he understands any of what caused his loss...

Don't know why that is so (although it does appear to be so), since Joe Klein and other MSM smartasses gloated long and loud in their very next issues of TIME and Newspeak after the 1996 election, about "how we did it".

Dole can blame Newt all he wants -- fact is, Clinton and ("Toe-Sucker") Dickie Morris dialed up Dole as the Chump of the Year a year and a half before the election.

That was what Slick spent all his Chinese reptile money on -- focus-group and test-marketing work out in the "C" media markets (adspeak for Hicktown, Sticks in the Woods, and Gomerville: what they call us the rest of the time) to determine who was the weakest, chumpiest GOP RiNO Slick could run against. Dole was their Chumpathon winner -- and their MSM allies like Jonathan Alter began a 6-month campaign to help old Bob get the nomination.

Dole should be grateful the 'Rats found him useful; otherwise, all he'd ever be remembered for would be his American Express and blue-pill ads. That, and passing tax bills to nullify Ronnie Reagan's tax cuts.
