Say, you know there could be a real strategy here...

Suppose 1 million people set the Drudgereport as their homepage, and that each hits it on average of once a day. That’s a million hits.

Then suppose he does something like this attack on Gingrich, and all those million people change their homepage, thus dropping the hitcount by a million. That would hit him right in the wallet, the only place it will do any good. Over time you could shape and in essence control the content.

All it would take is 1 million cooperative souls and some way to coordinate their actions...hmmm....

Many people bring up drudge report in the browser and leave it up, opening other windows to go to other sites. When that is done, the drudge site auto-refreshes itself every 3 minutes, generating more hits on the site (and more impressions on any ads that are billed per view and not per click).

So enough people staying completely away from Drudge can drop his hits considerably.
