McCain Sees Anti-Mormonism in Romney's S.C. Loss (Try anti-socialism, Juan!)

THE VILLAGES, Fla. -- John McCain has become Mitt Romney's biggest advocate in this critical early primary state, one that made his own GOP presidential nomination inevitable four years ago.

In an interview with RealClearPolitics after a town-hall meeting with about 100 seniors here, McCain often referred to Romney and his campaign as “we.” At the end of the interview, he asked intensely, “What’s [the RCP polling average] saying about us overnight after the debate?”

A reflection of this sense of ownership was evident in his take on last Saturday’s South Carolina primary, which Gingrich won.

“We haven’t had time to do a real analysis of the Romney race in South Carolina, but once we break that down, there was some element of anti-Mormonism in that vote,” McCain asserted. “I’m not saying all of it, but there were elements there. There was nothing that Mitt Romney could have done.”

Could that bias, if it exists, extend beyond the Palmetto State to others in the South if the primary drags on? “I’m not sure [but] I don’t think so,” McCain said, pointing to Georgia as one place he doesn’t believe would hold Romney’s religion against him.

I see a senile old man in McCain who is beginning to embarrass himself too often.

Where’s his family? Can’t they take him to the ranch for an outing or something?

Captain McQueeg needs to be dumped as soon as possible right along with the rest of the RINO flotsam and jetsam like Lugar, Hatch, Snowe, Collins and the rest of the nest of faux Republicans.

Maybe you should dig into what Mormons actually believe , and then ask yourself if someone insane enough to believe that stuff is a safe person to have as commander-in-chief. Believing you will be a god someday, equal to God Himself, is not a characteristic I want in a man with his hand on the proverbial button. Most people would consider such a belief to be indicative of some kind of psychosis, if it wasn’t wrapped up in a $300 haircut and a $3,000 suit.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

There was therefore “some element of anti-Christianity in that vote” for the Mormon bishop and high priest Willirad Mitt Romney in New Hampshire...

“There was nothing that Newt, Rick, and Ron could have done.”

Religion, Shmligion. Mitt Romney is no conservative. The good people of SC just aren’t as stupid as Mitty and McCrazy wishes they were.

The article, and my post, was about people not voting for, or even liking, Romney because he is a Mormon.

I'm sure there are Mormons who are bigoted against other religions, however, I have never see a post on FR that would support this.

McCainiac throws down the ‘religion card’

Read post 19 and you'll see why it is clearly part of this primary process.

Heck yeah! Get the word out! As a High Priest in the Mormon church, Romney believes he will someday be a god, equal to God Himself, with a race of people who worship him as divine. Why on earth shouldn't that bother me?

As well, Mormons believe someday the Constitution will be hanging by a thread, and a Mormon will become President of the US and President of the LDS church, and restore the Constitution by creating a theocratic Mormon state.

Satan's been stealing men's souls with that line of BS since the Garden. You'd think they'd be wise to it by now.

Satan and his apostle Joseph Smith: Man can become a god if he works hard enough to make himself good.

Jesus Christ: God became a man, and died for our sins, because there is no one good but God.

Joseph Smith was the American Mohammed. The similarities between the two are as striking as the similarities between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama.

McCain wants to take Mormonism off the table.

I like the fact that Romney loses his cool every time that he's asked about it.

Any aspect of a candidate's ideology, including their religious stances, is fair game.
