Cuban-American Leader: Huge Push for Newt Over Mitt

Carlos Perez, one of Ronald Reagan's closest Miami advisers and a Radio Mambi talk host who is influential in Florida's Cuban-American community, says there is growing resentment among Hispanics due to “lies and distortions” from GOP candidate Mitt Romney targeting former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Perez told Newsmax in an exclusive interview Saturday afternoon that a backlash is brewing against the Romney campaign’s allegation that Gingrich tried to undermine former President Ronald Reagan’s agenda.

Perez was a close adviser to President Reagan, and Reagan even acknowledged his Cuban-American friend's achievement during a State of the Union address.

“Among Cuban-Americans, you can bet your life Newt Gingrich will win the primary election,” Perez flatly predicted.

Perez, host of a popular Miami radio and television show, said Hispanic voters and especially Cuban-Americans are now “backing Newt Gingrich dramatically” and “getting a little bit mad at the Romney campaign.”

Perez endorsed Gingrich’s presidential bid on Monday. On Saturday, he told Newsmax that the buzz in the Cuban-American community has turned strongly pro-Gingrich.

I wondered if this might not backfire on Mitt. Glad to see it may be happening.

It all is public record but now Romney's camp is asking that the raw investigative files be released -- this is never done as it is unsubstantiated interviews etc and the Romney camp knows this.

Maybe RiNOmney is counting on the Obama Sleaze Factor to kick in here.

Hispanics are neither monolithic in their vote, nor are they stupid. They do not easily dismiss lies and being patronized.

Unfortunately, this is much less true about Mexican and Mexican-American voters. They are very "conservative" in their voting patterns: If Grandfather voted straight-ticket PRI for 60 years (and the huge majority of them did: nobody ever even heard of Vicente Fox's norteno PAN party until about 25 years ago), then so did his son, and when his son came to America, he voted straight-ticket Democrat (70/30 split or better is typical, in favor of Dems), and that man's son in turn votes Democrat, as will his grandson and his grandson's son. So say sociologists and PoliSci people who've studied the Mexican-American political folkway.

Central Americans are a completely different matter; they and South Americans split their tickets, and they helped George W. Bush get to 40% of the "Hispanic" vote in Texas, despite the bloc-voting of the Tejano Democrats.

The Texas and national Democratic parties are heavily invested in the Tejanos; if they can flip Texas, they'll hold the White House for the next 200 years.

This is like Nasdaq stock market LOL.
We have NEWT and MITT, and apparently MATT was overbought!
Look at the tech analysis, the RSI is pointing downward,
meanwhile the MACD is looking pretty good for NEWT.

Cuban Americans are smart people, and they
know their investment will grow under NEWT. :)
