I have no explanation to offer other than the old cliche about tragedy (McCain) returning as farce (Romney). I went along with the tragedy. The farce can go straight to hell; I refuse to be a part of it.

Tell me now how it DOESN’T look like a “conspiracy” against the Tea Party and Newt.

Get Romney nominated, NO MORE conservative Tea Party backed candidate, and probably the death nell of the Tea Party (they’ll push that idea HARD).

Set Romney up like a Little League T-Ball for Obama to hit outta the park in November, and THEN Jeb gets his 2016 shot with the Tea Party “officially” dead.

(....oooops..forgot my Reynolds Wrap cap.....)

The Democrats and the GOP elites have basically the same agenda - bigger government and cushy jobs and prestige with security. Win a few, lose a few, makes no difference as long as the apple cart isn’t upset.

Agreed. I firmly believe the GOP Establishment prefers 1. Mitt 2. Barack (and a distant 3rd) Newt.

Romney has a lot of issues that make him vulnerable right now and in the general election.

Newt however also has a lot of issues that make him equally if not more vulnerable in the general election. Again no one has laid out for me how Newt wins the midwest swing states such as OH, PA, WI, MI, CO, Iowa. Despite all the unity around Newt at this site and in some southern states, he just isn’t very popular in those swing states that we need to beat Obama. The electoral map is critical.

Neither guy is ideal to run in the fall.

[ Why does the GOP establishment want to run a moderate liberal? ]

BECAUSE a moderate liberal republican WILL NOT eviscerate the federal government “republicans”..

Federal government republicans.. i.e. contractors and all manner republican gov’t parasites...

You know republican federal government employees in all manner of types and stripes..
The next thing you know “THEY” could start trying to eliminate STATE GOVERNMENT employees and contractors as well..

And who knows even local government might be streamlined as well..
They are really afraid America could become America again..
Totally exposing socialism for “what it is”... Mob Rule..

Mob Rule by parasites like fleas, ticks, tapeworms, bed bugs, mosquitoes, and intestinal worms..
They are afraid THESE metaphors would STICK in America psyche..
AND BECOME COMMON KNOWLEDGE.....

I’m slowly coming to the horrifying conclusion that what I think does not matter.

I despise Mitt Romney. Right now I am very much leaning to not voting for him in the general election if he is our nominee. Let’s see, obama or obama-lite? The only way I will remotely consider voting for Mitt Romney is if he goes after obama with a vengeance. If I see that he is polite to obama the way McCain was, and doesn’t ask questions about hiding records, the issue of Fast & Furious, to name just a few on a very, very long list, then I will not vote for him. I swear I won’t. That SOB is going to have to really earn my vote because right now I am sick of his mug and it’s not going to change anytime soon.

>>The GOP and the democrat party are the good cop-bad cop of state run collectivism.

Yep. They know that the globalists (and the RepubliCrat Elites are a part of them) have sucked the US economy dry, and they either need to get the masses into collectivism soon or we’ll create our own market that they can’t tap or control as easily as the FedReserve/Banking/WallSt system. A nation of free people scares the hell out of the RepubliCrat elites.

I think the establishment GOP goal is to defeat the Tea Party at any cost.

You are soooooo right...it is the spending...the Washington party (democrat and republican wings) wants to keep the tax money flowing to their K Street pals who, in turn, line the pockets of the politicians.

If it’s Romney/Obama in November, there’s no sense in voting unless you’re voting thrid party.

Remember Perot??? Maybe we can talk Palin into it.

I think this is it. No changes. No voices of majority from the people.

If Romney wins the GOP-E nod and loses to Obama in November, let the train wreck of the country occur as the voters have spoken.

The status quo gives the GOP establishment almost unbridled power and access to trillions of taxpayer cash to play with. The Weeper of the House and merry little crew are but jaded old whores that sold us out so long ago they can't even remember their last honest action on our behalf.

I hope Newt has lots of Molotovs, a sharp axe and most importantly the unwavering resolve to destroy the village in order to save it.

The GOP is blind to the fact that they are destroying themselves.
They actually think they will beat Obama with Romney.
They see with $$$$$$$ eyes.
They are like-minded and like-moraled with Romney and Obama.

We definitely are headed for destruction, not just economically.

A Psalm that describes what is going on in our nation as well as the other nations of the world is PSALM 2.

The answer is simple. Because the GOP establishment is liberal and they really want 4 more years of Barack 0bama.
