I bet when you were a kid, when you lost you grabbed the ball and ran home with it. Cut our losses, if you get your way we will have a lot a losses to cut. I suggest you grow up and do the right thing. This is no time for immaturity.

Voters do not vote for “unlikable” candidates. If Newt and Callista are anything, they are “unlikable.”

*********************

So you find Obama likeable? Someone voted for him. George Herbert Walker Bush, James Earl Carter and Richard Milhouse Nixon before. These are all ‘likeable’?

How can people think that any of the candidates would be worse than four more years of Obama. It's just mind boggling to me. It's really petulant. Four more years of Administratively bypassing congress and instituting crippling regulations? Four more years of appointing judges for life to the Supreme Court? REALLY????

“Santorum got only half as many female votes as Mitt.”

Some women just -cannot- resist that Ted Bundy style charm which exudes from Willard Romney.

“REALLY????”

Really. A vote for Barillard Robama is a vote for Warack Obamney. You party first vassals and igors will find the results of 2012 worse than 2006 with a Barillard Robama and (fill in fake conservative here) ticket. At least it will make McCain look good in retrospect.

Vote for Santorum. Newt is unelectable and I will not support putting forward a very flawed, unelectable candidate to go against obama.

First of all, I am no ones vassal and I have no idea what kind of an insult you are trying to foist by calling me an igor? Name calling is what happens when people can't win an argument with reason or logic. I have pointed out why I think Santorum is the best. I have not heard any defense of Newt that makes sense other than Santorum cannot win. He is certainly not more conservative than Rick. In my opinion, Newt cannot win the general election. The more Newt people see the less they like him. The more of Santorum they see, the more they do like him. Also, this thinking (or lack of) that four more years of Obama is preferable to anyone but my guy is just beyond logic. ANY of the candidates is preferable to Obama. And finally, the notion that Santorum is a beard for Romney is ridiculous. He wants to win just like the other guys. No one would subject their family to that for the fun of it because it is a meat grinder campaigning every day. Santorum is staying in because he believes as do I that Newt will self destruct.

Only problem with that is that when he didn’t think a lot of people were looking, Sanctimonium voiced his “real concerns” about the Tea Party, and how he planned to set them straight.

You better consider something, I know people, really just acquaintances, who are part of the establishment republicans here in FL, pretty high up, I guess, whatever that means. they are already talking about the fact they are happy they didn’t have to use their Santorum stuff in Florida - and the GOP can save it for the later states: that stuff includes 3 ex-girlfriends lined up who say he slapped them around, and that he was emotionally and physically abusive. And they also said that Willard calling Santorum out as “angry” at the last debate, wasn’t spontaneous, they have been looking and waiting for the opportunity to start planting the seeds, that Santorum is abusive, and has anger management problems. And with a very sick child, a wife who permanently disabled with some back injury or something, can he really bring his full attention to the WH? Similar to some of the snark out there for Sarah previously.

They see it as: A conservative leader who is too unstable, erratic to lead. And a social conservative, who beats up women. They want the TParty choices - social or ideological conservative - to be between an abuser and an adulterer. Do you really really think Santorum will be able to handle this... and there is probably other stuff, too. It doesn’t even matter whether it’s true or not... it doesn’t even matter.

David Limbaugh: 'I'd Vote for Santorum'

I would, too, if it were between Santorum and Newt or between Santorum and Obama, but we've got to get rid of Romney first.

Never once does he mention the Tea Party and to insinuate he does is a lie. He is addressing his belief that government does have a role in our system and that the abolition of government for everything except defense is not his view. I see nothing wrong with a limited and efficient role for government. He is the candidate who lead on welfare reform in the Senate. He believes in shrinking government and eliminating departments. He is specifically addressing libertarian views that he does not agree with, most likely legalization of drugs or the “right” to marry for the LGBT community. As far as what he is saying about earmarks, he is correct. Would you rather some Cabinet Department Head make the decision as to how funds are spent? That is the role of congress.

Let me retort your sports metaphor:

No matter how many times a Steelers fan tells a Packers fan how important is is to beat the Ravens, or how many times the Ravens fan tells that Packers fan how important it is to beat the Steelers, from the Packers fan's perspective, it's “six of one, half a dozen of the other.”

To put it more bluntly: For many of us, if we don't have a dog in the hunt, we could care less who gets the fox.

Winning more Senate and House seats is hardly a lot of losses to cut, and it is pretty much an historical given that we will benefit as such. There will be more than one silver lining, including the fact that we can do better with our nomination process in 2016 by finding a Compromise Conservative (Perry, Jindal, Allen, Bush, et al).

As for being “immature.” Let me tell you: I have a den wall full of photos and thank you letters from previous campaigns. I have given 1000+ hours of my time walking the pavement, working phones, making signs, traveling to swing states, and doing whatever was asked of me to help GOP candidates over the years. I helped Dole, Bush, and McCain. That being said, I can say this:

I have never seen the GOP stoop so low as they have in this campaign, and I have never felt so unwelcome as I do right now in this Party. With SEVEN years of warning not to impose Romney upon us, they have proceeded to shove down our throats a candidate who is a COMPLETE anathema to a LARGE number of us on the ground - not by courting us or winning the argument, but by overwhelming us with Wall Street and banker money and using surrogates in FORMERLY trustworthy GOP media outlets as campaign proxies to DESTROY our candidate(s), starting four years ago with Sarah Palin.

I have never seen personal space violated the way they are doing so to Newt in Florida with their stalking. I have never seen such outright bullying and taunting of a Republican candidate BY a Republican candidate and his/her campaign. Even loonies like Pat Buchanan were never attacked on the personal level that RECOGNIZABLE people in the GOP Party have attacked Newt. It is utterly disgraceful, and the actions of completely dishonorable people and a completely dishonorable campaign. For many of us, they are not on our team, and we are not on theirs.

As ashamed as I was of his Governorship, I am 1000 times more ashamed of his GOP Primary campaigns.

And don't even get me started on the latest campaign for a Social Issues ‘Truce,’ which they are so determined to shove down our throats that they inexplicably interject it into a State of the Union response. I see CLEARLY what they have in store for us with a Romney Presidency, and it isn't anything good.

I would no more trust Mitt Romney with the Presidency of the United States than I trust Barack Obama. It is absolutely that bad, period.

Well, let me preface by saying that I’m not a conservative who sees other conservatives as the enemy, even when I disagree with them. But, I do think that another 4 years of Obama may mean it won’t matter what we want to run for President, there won’t be much left to salvage. And so, I see sitting home, regardless, as the worse option. I understand why you think as you do, I just think you’re wrong.

You explained the situation perfectly.

I studied the candidates pretty seriously after Cain imploded. It took a while to choosebut Santorum has the best chance of being a good to excellent President.

I literally have said that Gingrich is a weak, narcissistic man unfit to be a leader for years around here. The fact that he’s a feisty debater changes nothing. A president should try to Serve his constituents. None have been perfect at it, but some don’t even try. I don’t trust newt.

Santorum has been steadily rising to the occasion, fighting, leading, and keeping steady. Plus he is a decent man. During the general, some of newt’s bimbos will be offered money to describe a sexual encounter with him. We will hear about servicing newt in the car, in the Speaker’s office, etc. We wont have to hear this sort of thing from Santorum.

I don't live in any state that get's to vote, until "super tuesday"...

Therefore, as you should know, I can't effect any change at this point.

You also should know...Santorum is unelectable. And Rommey is unelectable too.

The ONLY candidate that actually can beat Obama...( As stupid as that sounds....as IF the FREAKING GOP had a damn GLUE...ANY good CONSERVATIVE could beat OBAMA if they...were CONSERVATIVE as the PEOPLE WANT!!!!!) is Newt. As flawed as the guy is....he can take Obama down.

Romney is the white Obama IMO...The status quote.....

It's finally my opinion....the whole lot of the citizens of the U.S.A. have been flim-flamed and rope-a-doped for decades...now. For the betterment of these "representatives" of ours to make themselves better.

I'm sick of the RNC, the GOP and those within those groups...that continue to fight against me, and my family.

FER#$%^$KING rant off

Same here. I was on the Cain train for a while. I hadn't given Santorum a close look really until Cain got out. Newt is supposed to be this great debater, yet Rick won the last two debates. He took it to Romney relentlessly on health-care. He just keeps getting better.

I can’t prove it... that’s why twice I said, it doesn’t matter if it’s true... I don’t know if he was trying to discourage me or worry me, or what... his point was, you might as well get on the romney bandwagon now, because once they finish Newt off, and they plan to, they will start on Santorum, and once he’s finished, if need be, they’ll deal with Paul... IOW, don’t waste time and energy fighting for any kind of conservative or any Tea Party candidate... the deal is done. And it did discourage me, and worry me, but that is the battlefield, for everybody, not just Newt, don’t think Santorum will escape it... or Paul for that matter.

Well, that was my point - to a lot of people the truth does matter, but not to those guys. I am really tired and I must not be expressing myself very well. That’s what some so called gop bigshot told me - you or I wouldn’t say it if it wasn’t true... but he just might have said it even if it wasn’t true, like I said, to discourage me or others. We are tired in Florida, and so easily discouraged, but still fighting. But I think the mindset of the romney gop evidenced in his remarks to me is spot on: Whatever works...
