Republicans are touting a new poll in the Montana Senate race that shows Rep. Denny Rehberg (R) with an 11-point lead over Sen. Jon Tester (D).
Rehberg led Tester, 53 percent to 42 percent, according to a survey paid for by the conservative group American Crossroads and obtained exclusively by Roll Call.
Tester faces one of the toughest re-election races of the cycle, and Roll Call rates the contest a Tossup. Crossroads GPS, the well-funded sister organization of American Crossroads, has already invested heavily in television ads on behalf of Rehberg in the high-stakes contest.
Aaron Murphy, a spokesman for Testers campaign, dismissed the polls findings.
Polls will show different results all year, but no ones taking this one seriously, Murphy said. Remember, this is the same Dennis Rehberg who voted to give himself five pay raises, voted to increase the debt ceiling ten times, sued Montana firefighters for doing their job, and gave tax breaks to fellow millionaires who ship American jobs overseas.

It’s always been difficult to believe that Montana could possibly elect ‘rats. Plenty of ‘rat history in Butte, Helena, Bozeman and Missoula though.
The GOP needs this one to retake the Senate. Glad to see it’s veering in the right direction.
Agree. I don’t know anything about Rehberg, but it’s critical that he wins, especially if Obama is reelected.
Good,I may need to move there
Great news, thx for the post!
Tester ran as a good ole boy conservative democrat. The folks in Montana realize they got snookered.
This is a Republican-sponsored poll and I regard them as outlier polls. But that doesn’t mean it’s a lie. I’ve long regarded Rehberg as a marginal favorite in this race.
Denny PING!
He needs some of “His Rickness’s” sexiness.
Missoula and Bozeman vote rat due to being liberal college towns; Helena is full of government unionists (state capital), and Butte is an old mining town, still a lot of old unionist hangers on there. Pretty much the rest of the state is conservative, including Billings and Great Falls, and eastern MT (except for around Glendive and Wibeaux). Good example of a state that was infiltrated by a bunch of rich liberal eco-nuts from the west coast who bought up ranchland and brought their pathetic liberalism with them.
He’s likely going to be dinged on his vote for NDAA.
The indian reservations of course all vote Democrat.
His liberal record was there for the seeing before he ran.
It was the bogus charges against Burns that got Tester over the finish line.
