There are mothers (and fathers) who try their best to guide their kids down the right path, but it doesn’t always work. She didn’t raise this kid to be a thug, but he turned into one. Thankfully the man (the true victim) had a firearm, knew how to use it, and was able to act.

You're right - she probably loved her child like most mothers do... but she was fighting toxic culture incentives liberals dumped on the underclass in the sixties. Without fathers, necessary conditional love doesn't exist. Mother love - unconditional - is great if balanced. Not balanced and it's a disaster. The more she loved him - ‘no matter what’ - the more she weakened him. Look at the results - and her comments. She bought into liberal “victim group-think” - and her son died. My prayers for all who live in pain in this horror...

Than again, sometimes parents can do everything ‘right’ and still have a child who’s lost. The good and bad are all part of God’s plan... even if it doesn’t make sense on our finite level. Prayers for the lost and suffering... and those who love them.
