Two generations have experienced life after the Civil Rights Act was passed. An objective person would look at the issues:

Has the plight of the African American improved?

Would spending another 12 Trillion make any difference?

That objective person would have to conclude:

That the programs don’t work, more money spent would be fruitless.

Giving someone the trappings of middle class does not make them middle class. It is the hard work, saving, planning and self-discipline that create the middle class. (thoughts from a Glenn Reynolds quote at instapundit.com).

Jobs would build self-esteem, an independent spirit, the satisfaction of a job well-done. Pride. Dignity. Independence.

Jobs not Programs Obama!

Yup. And somewhere along that line it stopped being about equal rights for blacks and became about superior rights for blacks.
