For all of his talk about jobs and the economy, President Barack Obamas State of the Union speech was not an economic policy blueprint. This was a speech about power about increasing the scale and scope of government and the power of those who govern over the American people.
If this claim seems over the top, consider the following:
The President begins his speech by lauding the courage, selflessness, and teamwork of Americas armed forces Theyre not consumed with personal ambition. They dont obsess over their differences. They focus on the mission at hand. They work together.
Imagine what we would accomplish if we followed their example.
Thats right. The Presidents vision of the path forward for America is to imagine ourselves as members of a military organization with the American people selflessly following the orders of their superior officers no matter the personal cost up through the chain of command to the President as Commander in Chief. This is the metaphor President Obama chose to explain the relationship between government and the American people.
His message to business owners was: Ask yourselves what you can do to bring jobs back to your country, and your country will do everything we can to help you succeed.
By your country the President did not mean American families who might prefer to buy products of equal quality at a lower price. You know what, Barry? Fine. Let's hear you say that when President Palin is in office.
Blue prints are obsolete and have not been in common use for at least 10 years.
If the president doesn’t understand the current language, how can he lead? How can he know anything about the future?
He is basically an ignorant lout who thinks he is educated

I totally agree on that but I won’t kick him for using “blueprint”, it is very common for words to hang around long after their original meaning has been lost. In fact blueprint originally meant a print that was blue with the image containing the information showing up as white areas within the blue. That ceased to be the case decades ago and the word came to refer to a white background with the image in blue. I used to do repairs on Bruning “blueprint” machines with ammonia developers back in the ‘70s but we sometimes commented that they were really “whiteprint” machines, the real blueprint machines were long gone by then. I knew what real blueprints were because my father was a carpenter and he sometimes brought them home with him back in the fifties.
