Why?

Just... WHY?!!

Who could have watched Romney in the last couple of debates and NOT come away with the impression he’s a vicious, vacuous, self-important snake-oil salesman?

Seriously... if the majority of Republicans think enough of the talking Ken doll to want him as President, I’m out of the party.

to be honest the last few debates Newt did not shine. That probably had a lot to do with Romneys rise
a lot of Rs want a reason to vote for someone other than Romney trouble is that the others all have various flaws for one reason or another
Newt had his moment in the sun with his strong debate in SC. Unable to repeat it which basically is Newt’s M.O... He is brillaint one moment and a disaster the next. This uneven performance would also kill him in the general i am convinced of that by now.
In any event after these other guys all crash and burn the only one who appears stable is Romney. made a few gaffes (handling of the taxes was beyond daft) but other than that pretty even keeled performance thoughout. I can see how most non political junkies find him acceptable. they may not love him but look at the others and say “well at least he didnt have 14 affairs, say oops in a debate or sit on a couch with Nancy Pelosi.
