This happens to me all the time here in NYC (I live on Madison).
More and more when my girlsfriend’s dog is with me (while I’m trying to get to work as she walks it like you described ) .
You just gave me a great idea. I’m going to start asking cabbies If they are Muslim then save them off if they nod, just like they do when they pull over and then see the dog near me.

I’m sorry to hear that you, too, have had these problems in NYC. I was hoping it was fairly uncommon. I have to get into the habit of having a pen on me to take down the taxi’s #. Not that the Commission would do anything about it.
My only advice is: if you see a cabbie wearing anything that strikes you as Islamic, avoid the cab. In fact, hail it down and then dismiss it, lol! Don’t engage with them, though. They turn nasty on a dime.
I live in NYC as well under despot Bloomberg. My girlfriend tells me the Muzzies also don’t like picking up women because they don’t like taking orders from them. Like if she takes a cab to work and suggests to the potential terrorist to take a certin route, they get mad and won’t do it.
