Keep at it old sport. I do about 30 signatures at a spell then have to take a break to keep myself from getting sloppy.
There was a recent U.S Supreme Court case involving this exact same issue regarding names on an initiative petition by opponents of same sex marriage. The supreme court said they had to be released.
Typically, liberals want it both ways.
I think everyone was cut off late Sunday night.
BREAKING: per Facebook posting from a guy who just talked with GAB, they have reversed and will post the petitions later today or tomorrow.
WI law has specific provisions regarding redaction of names as in this case, GAB clearly overreached. My guess is their lawyers delivered a smackdown to whoever made this boneheaded decision.

They want whatever will give them a momentary advantage.
They know the MSM won't call them on it.
They will mis-use the procedural characteristics of the democratic process, the legal system, the education system, whatever, to gain an advantage. It doesn't matter how ridiculous it is. It doesn't matter how contradictory or hypocritical they look. They know the MSM will look the other way, but the bottom line is they simply don't care. They also know the average person will forget all the details in a year or two anyway.
It’s not a given that that invalidates that page. The ones I’m typing in for the Senators have that big type as a header and additionally spell it out in the text just below it: “we the voters of (area) petition for the recall of (specific person)...”
Thanks for the info. I hope that it is true, as there is a time limit on reviewing and entering those names.
I wonder if this affects VerifytheRecall (11,000+ people working on line) as well as the GOP Victory Centers where we are hand sorting and visually checking petitions.
“Privacy issues” ??
More like “authenticity issues”.
Libs were all in favor of posting lists of the people who opposed gay marriage in California.
And now suddenly they’re not.
They’ll probably get their way in Wi.
Just another double standard day in Obamaland.
Dittos for Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner.
They won’t.
The best thing that Walker and the Republican controlled Senate/Legislature did was allow for lawsuits to be brought outside of Dane County as had been the previous law.
The GAB would have gotten away with their original plan to allow Hitler, Bugs Bunny, etc if the Walker administration hadn’t had a judge in Waukesha County order them to strike those names.
I think that’s why the left and the GAB are flailing so badly right now in the PR campaign. They are used to having Dane County judges cover their leftist butts when they broke the rules. Now they are facing having to answer to judges in Counties other than the People’s Republic and not having a legal leg to stand on.
Fun times here in Wisconsin!!!! :)
Same here - some of those signatures look like they've been signed by doctors - lots of "Can't tell".
I worked on Senator Van Wanggaard’s, then viewed Fitzgerald’s petitions but didn’t work on them.
I noticed that a fairly decent percentage, probably 8-10%, of signers on Fitzgerald’s put their signatures in the “printed” box and printed their names in the “signatures” box. Not sure if that would disqualify them or not?
Also, apparently the law states that the full year must be written, i.e., 11/12/2011, not just 11/12/11. On Van Wanggaard, the petition form had the century printed, the requirement was met on virtually all petitions.
However, on Fitzgerald’s the date column was just a blank space, and 99% of people just wrote “11/12/11” leaving out the full year, 2011. I doubt they’ll rule them invalid, but it’s possible I suppose.
hilarious, if this was an anti-gay marriage referendum, the papers would be publishing the names and addresses of the signers.
Donald Duck is concerned about autograph hounds.
Exactly. And as an added public service, the names of each of their children and the addresses of the schools they attend.
