That whole H1B Visa is a VERY VERY sore point with me since the high point of my career was running a Tech Support Team, most of which have now been outsourced or staffed here by H1B weasels.
At the height of my investigations, before I gave up the chase for a job, I found that this is a VERY BIG and VERY DIRTY secret which OB is fully aware of.
There are even seminars given to HR departments on how to game the very system that is supposed to protect us and instead paves the way for the H1B snakes to take over our professional white collar jobs, just the way the illegals infected the construction industry and other blue collar job markets.
I even watched an undercover recording on u-tube of one such seminar. Sickening ............
It's not the job of the President of the United States to be finding jobs for semiconductor engineers in Texas. That's for semiconductor companies to do.
The job of the President is to keep the government out of the hair of semiconductor companies, their owners, and their customers!
FYI, here’s one of my personal experiences:
Found a posting for a sales support position for a local hi-tech company. Matched the individual requirements list at close to 100%. Got past the initial phone interview w/HR w/flying colors.
So, they get an H1B Visa equipped Manager on the line (who was outside the chain of command for the position BTW) who can barely speak English. He poses a NEW very specific requirement that wasn’t in the posting, wasn’t raised by the HR squirrel and would only be needed for someone doing actual design work, not sales support.
Result - blown off, most likely in favor of ANOTHER H1B Visa equipped snake.
H1B = corporate welfare. Where do Newt and Rick stand on this?
