They’re only caving because of a Congressional investigation of PP. I’ll withhold my celebration until we see what Komen does after the hearings.
It’s possible they’re using the investigations as a cover excuse. The stem cell announcement is encouragement that they are getting on the right track.
I encourage folks to keep up the pressure. There’s a fairly easy way that’s available to some, that I’ve used, and I think it’s effective.
Over the past year, I’ve received quite a few invitations to events that are tied to Komen in some way. One was inviting me to participate in an online survey for a company I do business with, and, if I did, a donation to Komen would be made. A lot of 5k runs are charity events with some Komen involvement.
I made it a point to contact those who had invited me and tell them that I would have much liked to participate; however, I could not in good conscience support anything that gave money to Komen due to their support of Planned Parenthood.
I think enough of these responses can have a positive effect.
