TAMPA, Fla. — Mitt Romney rolled to victory in the Florida primary on Tuesday evening, according to early returns and exit polls, dispatching an insurgent threat from Newt Gingrich and reclaiming his dominant position in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

“Is this going to be a belly-aching, self-indulgent thread..?”

Honestly with the anonymity of a FR handle, Freepers post some of the most illogical comments at times like this. I even read one guy tonight say he will vote for Obama over Romney. I can remember when McCain was going to be the clear winner, the same kind of comments were being posted. I think there was a suicide watch on FR. A few months later those same Freepers were sending the McCain campaign money or asking how volunteer. What changed? One helluva VP choice.
I hope and pray that our nominee, be it Mitt or Newt remember back to that high point of the 2008 election.

lol

I predict Romney turns HEAVILY to the left before the primary is even over.

The SECOND Romney thinks he’s got this is the bag he will start RUNNING back to where his true positions lie, to the left.

The gullible in Florida are just too stupid to know it, or too stupid to care.

It’s the YANKEES! Not native Floridians!

Basically, Southeast Florida is more liberal.... Palm Beach, Broward (and to a lesser extent St. Lucie and Miami-Dade Counties).... BUT, Tallahassee and Gadsden counties in North Florida are also liberal oasis in seas of “redness”! Alachua County (Gainesville) is one of the most LIBERAL areas in Florida because of the university. The Cuban-Americans are trying to turn Miami into GOP Central and Miami Beach is fairly blue.

Don't worry. We understand. Florida is one of those states, like texas and collyfornya, where people go to when they sell out. And tonight they sold out again. Cheer up. Tomorrow is another day.

It cost Romney 17 million to win in Fla. He should have won with a lot higher percentage than he did...this battle is still on..

Oh absolutely the game is on.....NEXT! It's a long ways before the fat lady sings!

freepers are horrible about polls

i am a big newt fan ...huge...750 so far and will pony up again tonight

but u are right...freepers only believe polls and ratings they like

the only caveat about polls is they may not pick up late swings...the last 48 hours

which can be pivotal

in this race we have had some swings...

it’s like the Plato’s Retreat of primaries in that way...swinging

Rick bails and Newt stays in we have a real race...even with Mitt’s cash and the media etc...

we’ll see

Chet99 was realistic about polls too btw

Another FReeper or an article somewhere said that Florida has selected the eventual nominee for 20 years longer than South Carolina.

So either way, one of those two states is going to lose its record.

AMAZING how many normally smart FReepers blame “moderate” Florida, the MSM, Drudge, RINOs, etc., and fail to blame the one who was really at fault: NEWT. He ran a dreadful FL campaign. 11 million “grandmas”? Moon bases? Kosher meals? Pathetic. Newt needs new blood in his tent, and fast, or this goes nowhere.

I figured out the problem:

No one outside of Massholechusetts has been subject to RomneyCare, therefore, when they see RoMONEY, they see the good looking guy with the pretty wife and slew of kids...Ward Cleaver if you will.

They have no idea the Hell that awaits them via RoMONEYObamaCare.

You can’t judge a book by it’s (liberal) cover.

They’ve been duly warned.

Oh Joy! Is that supposed to make people happy? What... is FR going to become the support Hussein board? When and if that happens, I will leave here and never look back.

Why is Flori Duh so messed up (remember their condoning the murder of Terri Schiavo)? Well, because there are so many liberal northern rats moving down there for the weather! Let's wait ot see what Alabamians, Georgians, Mississippians, Louisianians, Kentuckians, and Tennesseans do about milt Rominy ... and Texans had better kick is ass, if they know what's good for Texas, ‘cause we Tennessean aren't coming down there and snatchin’ their butts out of the future fires if they support the Romulan.

You should see it here in Utah. Every mormon is psycho for Romney.

How many votes does Romney gain from Utah. Big whoop. We can keep the pressure on the lying socialist, and we will up to the convention. Tea Party darling Jason Chafettz, Jon Huntsman's campaign chairman for governor, then chief of staff, has already endorsed the snake oil salesman, and Mormon, Romney.

Chaffetz grew up a Democrat. His father had previously been married to Dukakis' wife, Kitty, and his half-brother is former actor John Dukakis. While a student at BYU (private Mormon college), he was a Utah co-chairman for Michael Dukakis's 1988 campaign for U.S. President.

Take away: Beware of Tea Party Darlings. Oft times they are serpents. This one is.

“Romney may move toward his roots more than we think. Let’s hope and keep nudging him along.”

GOP hopey changey?

Good luck with that, you and the other Romney booster here. I’ll consider giving my grudging vote to Mittens if he goes on the `Beltway Gang’ stage, sticks both thumbs up his a** and walks on his elbows across 100’ of clothesline.

IN got left-over McCain in 2008 for our primary. I suspect a lot of conservatives will bail on the WH and concentrate on electing conservatives to Congress.

Yeah I know, boo hoo hoo. Like I said, good luck with getting your elbow-walking lefty elected. I’m going to blow out my sinuses with my WaterPik. The thought of the `choices’ the GOP has given us makes my head ache.

Go TeaP. ToHe**WithTheGOP.

It's the early voting I heard a clip where one of mittens people said they had sent out alot of absentee ballots-WTF i thought only the SOS could do that. Here in Ohio early voting started today and our primary is not till march. In 2008 200,000early votes were cast and surprise O took Ohio by 200,000 plus or minus a few votes. Also without voter ID then anyone can claim party affiliation and vote.If mittens wins and is the candidate then maybe need to reconsider moving to Costa-Rica.
