Keep watching the vote count... Newt isn’t going to win, but he is closing the gap every update. One more percentage point from there (67% counted) and he will be within the margin where with Santorum’s votes he could have won.

And it’s likely to get even close before the counting is over.

I’d like to see him get within 10. That would not be “winning big”.

Santorum needs to get the heck out of this race right now. This is the time. We need those votes or Romney is a done deal.

Where is the actual vote count?

I sure hope we aren’t talking about exit polls.

Newt needs to give Santorum voters a reason to switch, some kind of assurance that he is not the kind of guy who sits on Nancy’s couch, likes 300 pages of ObamaCare, says positive things about amnesty, endorses people like Dede Scozzafava and think Freddie Mac is a model agency. That he isn’t the kind of candidate who calls for federal jobs programs for inner city kids and moon bases while we have trillion dollar deficits....

Give them a reason to vote FOR him.

If he cannot, then we need someone like Santorum in there.

It’s not Santorum stealing Newt votes, it’s Santorum giving people a reason not to stay home.

Agreed. Santorum should endorse Gingrich and gracefully bow out. I can easily see a role in a Gingrich administration for Santorum—in a Romney administration, not so much.
