Among TRUE CONSERVATIVES, NEWT TAKES IT AT 46%, ROMNEY LAST AT 11%

I came home and was totally bummed by the results so far. I looked for anything on FR to cheer me up. Finally I succumbed and went to the former-other favorite website Drudge and begrudgingly clicked on the 'Landslide' article - blah blah blah and there, at the very bottom - I found my glimmer of hope: In a positive sign for Gingrich, exit polls showed evangelical voters trending for the former House speaker. The exit polls showed Gingrich with 40 percent among that group, and Romney with 36 percent.

But the margin was wider for Romney among seniors and Hispanics. Half of the seniors polled were supporting Romney, while 35 percent backed Gingrich. Romney also led Gingrich 56-29 percent among Hispanic voters, the largest minority in the state, exit polling showed.

Voters overwhelmingly went for Romney among those who said winning in November is the most important quality in a Republican nominee. But for voters who valued "true conservative" credentials as their top quality, Gingrich led with 46 percent, followed by Santorum at 26 percent and Paul at 16 percent. Among those voters, Romney was last with 11 percent.

Reading comprehension issues? I am not a Romney fan, I am not a Newt fan either and the hero worship by all these good Christians really shows hypocrisy at its finest.

And I have “come out” more than tonight. Check out who a person is nefore you toss off cheap one liners that have no basis in fact let alone reality.

Florida is not your typical Southern State i.e. it is not a Conservative state.

Sorry. Made an incorrect assumption. I’m just getting pissed at all the Romney people that are suddenly showing up.

Voting for a “winner” is a big deal for some people. (Although you’d have to be ignorant of what the primary process really is to care much about that.)

Hume thinks newt killed his son. His son committed suicide because newt and someone else were going to out an affair he was having with a married male congressman, so they say. I learned this here on FR. I’d think he’d have to recuse himself this election...

They would? Don't think so. Mitt won those who decided in the last 7 days, so you are going to have to come up with another fantasy. I'm from Virginia and our ballot will only have Mitt and Ron - a horrid situation and from what I understand, no write ins are allowed.

One of the things I don't understand about FR is that no matter what the facts are, denial is rampant among posters. The fact is Newt got crushed in Florida and he has a tough road ahead of him. There are a number of states where he won't even be on the ballot and has little money. And if we are honest, the last 7 days, Newt has not been a good messenger.

No. Newt never lied to me or to his country but Santorum did! Watch your name calling of a Patriot. And look at the lies you are posting to THE WORLD!

Mitt lies just by opening his mouth. What is it that entices you to him? His gay marriages, lies, deceit, pro abortion stance, romneycare, big gov’t?

I agree with you completely except for one thing. Newt is not Reagan. Reagan's ability to communicate his message and the way he did it is once in a lifetime and Newts are common.

But you are completely and absolutely correct. Newt has to get back on message and stop talking about space colonies and whining - people don't like that. This is what everybody was talking about when they said Newt is undisciplined. He ignores the advice of his advisers. Case in point - on the night of the SC victory, he did not use the speech written for him; instead he talked off the cuff and blew a chance to communicate what he is about and what he believes in, in a compelling manner. Everyone was watching him that night, particularly Floridians and he wasted that opportunity.

Newt is not a good messenger - space colonies???? when he should be pounding Romney on Romneycare and Obamacare incessantly and explaining why they are bad even if he is a broken record and talking about jobs and why he can get the economy going. Pound 2 or 3 major things or themes and that's it. Nothing more.

Maybe this will help to galvanize the TEA party.

I still don’t understand WHY did FL move their primary UP?

Well Glee was a good episode, they had no promos for loser Romney.

Biggest Losers which I thought would be a show dedicated to Willard was about fat people losing weight was decent.

And now I'm on to watching History Channel DVDs. I'm not going to listen to the check pants RINOs at Fox to celebrate their boy. Mr Romney = Obamacare, Gay Marriage, Abortion on Demand, Massachusetts being brought to your neighborhood, Cuban Mafia led by Marco Rubio who is a phony in my opinion after this race in Florida.

Shame on Florida, guess all the ex-Brooklyn old farts registered Republican so they could help Barry win another 4 years.

I am sick and disgusted... BUT, hopefully we still have the SCOTUS when Barry tries to take full control of the internet otherwise we'll end up like bootleggers in the 20s....

Hold on...they are a VERY large percentage (over 40% as I recall) of the GOP electorate. And even more among those who turn out for primaries and caucuses. MUCH more in most states than in FLA.

You do realize that according to CNN Catholics in FL went for Romney? That's right; they chose Romney over Newt and Rick.
The real news in FL is that Republicans in that state self identify as (drum roll) MODERATES

Women also went for Romney by a large margin in all age groups. Do I have to paint a picture for everyone what the real issue was tonight in FL??? Whether we like it or not; when the majority of women and the majority of Catholics in a state (where the majority of Republicans are Moderates) vote for the one person who is WEAKEST on Pro Life issues over 2 Pro Life Catholics; it's pretty easy to see what's happening in FL.

FL is not a traditional Southern state and hasn't been for a long time. It is not Conservative; although, it has some large Conservative areas. This was not a state that Newt or Rick were going to win. End of story.

I wish everyone would get a grip and stop beating each other up ...this isn't the end of the world. We all share the same general goal: Beat Obama (and the GOP elites) and get the best deal we can for Conservative principles. Like Sarah said: “Rage against the machine” ...and use that rage to adapt and overcome; we move on to the next state.

Take care.

Romney has a clear path, but it’s not over. In the Obama - Clinton battle Hillary won most all the big states..and by HUGE margins. She walloped obama in Pennsylvania, which was at a very critical, juncture of the campaign. She won Florida. She won California. Romney’s biggest strength now is the open weaknesses of Newt. He has been severely damaged and vulnerable. I would bet on Romney at this stage, but I wouldn’t go all in yet.

Bingo...

Cities populated with retired senior citizen Yankees dependent on Medicare, Social Security and other big government for their secure retirement lifestyle...

RINOs more concerned about “winning” and keeping their benefits than the survival of our nation and our kids future...
