Ten Things You Should Do If You’re An “Anybody But Mitt” Republican, And One You Should Not
Hot Air ^ | February 1, 2012 | Mitch Berg

Let’s say, hypothetically, for just a moment here, that some of the pundits are right – that Romney’s landslide victory in Florida means he really might be inevitable.

I’ve heard more than a few of you Newt and Paul supporters out there; “If Romney wins, I’m staying home on election day”.

While I’m not especially passionate about Romney just yet, I’ll reiterate what an awful idea this is. Don’t go there, people.

I’ve got ten suggestions for much more-productive responses.

“twisted logic “

It’s not twisted, considering w/have a three-branch government including a split legislature (house/senate).

It seems to me, the more bills that get through congress, the more I’m screwed.

When there’s different parties running the various parts, less bills get through and I am henceforth screwed less.

So in fact it would be you who are whining that not everyone wants to be pragmatic.

Voting third party or what not is simply a vote for stalemate.

That’s what I think we need, since we don’t have a candidate that will “undo” damage that’s been done.

My personal belief is that the pragmatism you demonstrate is a big part of the problem, not the solution.

Sometimes it’s ok to be pragmatic, but I’m not willing to do it for this one.

I vote for stalemate!

I am not planning to stay home. I will go and vote for any other decent candidates at other levels.

And hopefully by then, if Romney is the GOP candidate, the Tea Party/conservative base will have agreed on a write-in or Second Party candidate, and I will vote for that person.

My choice for a write-in remains Sarah Palin; but first, we’ll see how things work out. By then, IF Romney is annointed, the conservatives may have agreed on a candidate.

I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ROMNEY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, no matter who his VP pick is.

But I’ll certainly go to the polls and vote for anyone decent.

By the way, I said “second party” and not “third party,” because the GOP is intent on committing suicide. So it will be the new third party, vanishing into history like the Whigs.

“Boehner will fight Obama, he will not fight Romney.”

Don’t make me laugh. Boner will fight Obama? So far, he has given him virtually every dollar he has asked for, and has done absolutely nothing to oppose him.

I’m voting against Obama in the General Election, even if it means voting for Romney.

I will do what I like on election day and the GOP (and anyone else telling me what I should do) can take a flying leap.

So there.

“Don’t make me laugh.”

You’re right. Boehner isn’t so great.

Nevertheless, with the debt ceiling last summer as an example, even though he did cave at the end, there was a least a delay, not a rubberstamp - contrast Pelosi as speaker.

Romney is a flat tire but I’m not abandoning the carvjust yet. There are still congressional races and a solidly conservative Housd and Senate can make up for a RINO in the white house. Anyone thinking of sitting this out is volunteering for a 4 year replay of 2009 & 2010 with the Kenyan in the white house and Pelosie/Reid in congress.

but with Obama you KNOW that it’s only 4 more years.

No, you don't know. 0bama is following the Cloward-Piven strategy of bankrupting America, followed by chaos and violence, martial law and El-Presidente-For-Life 0bama. Mittens cannot beat 0bama, so be prepared.

>>>I cannot vote for Romney.
I would rather have Obama.
It sounds weird.

BUT, both will continue to destroy America. We have a better chance, albeit a small one, for victories against Obama than Romney. Of course,Boehner and Mcconnell need to go for us to have a better chance.<<<

I agree. Plus, I think I’d feel like a “racist” if I voted for the white, lying, Liberal/Socialist over the black, lying Liberal/Socialist.

According to his own words, in your link, if true, Gingrich is no conservative. And we know he’s no conservative in his private life.

The GOP “moderates” have shut out conservatives and ideas of reform and leadership and worked with the DNC and globalists for years to create the oppressive, mindless mess that is the US government and world today.

I want to tell myself there is a lessor of two evils like I do every election. But I can’t. It’s a lie. There is one united corrupt and evil mob of elitists working together against the freedom, good nature, well being and interests of the country. They will take it down no matter what we do because they have no American constitutional based idenity and ideology. They are foreigners with no attachment to the nation they deconstruct, loot and rule. I can’t vote for my own, my children’s and my country’s destruction.

I’m more afraid for the Republic than I am angry at the stupid party. Even if Newt was the candidate, I am not all that hopeful he’d be able to pull the ship of State off the Rino’s iceberg and avoid sinking. I fear that the Rinos and DNC have done us and the world in already. Rinos and the DNC will take America down to the depths of their elitist, “smart” ignorance.

Looking at the mess they have caused, you would think the Rinos would step back and say to themselves, “something is wrong with us.” But no. They love themselves, they love evil and the lies of political correctness. They don’t really care if it is a Democrat or Republican progressive who subdues and bleeds us out as long as the operation continues. Failure is progress. Interesting times we live in.

"Describing a 46% win as a landslide is BS - stopped reading right there."

Particularly deceptive in a winner take all primary.

The only possibility is that with Mitt as the nominee, he in some way might be a motivation for ppl to vote in more tea party congress-critters. If we control Congress, we control Mitt.

I will vote. But I will NOT vote for Romney or Obama.

Because I live in a deep blue state my vote for POTUS will only matter to those who keep track of the popular vote.
