My first question is why isnt Goodman serving time for manslaughter. If he was serving time he would be more open to settle.
Goodman, who reportedly had a blood-alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit in Florida several hours after the crash, also faces a criminal trial relating to the fatal 2010 crash. He is due to appear in court on March 6 on charges of DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a crash. He faces up to 30 years if convicted.
what about the insurance proceeds?
This is sloppy reporting.
I suspect the insurance company tendered the policy limits already. That is civil and the issue there could be a “wrongful denial” set up by the plaintiff attorney.
Also he could be waiting for the criminal trial because a conviction there is admissible in civil court due to the higher standard. (not the reverse)
again, piss poor reporting.
Its been 2 years so I can assume Goodman attorney have been doing everything in its power to delay the trial. Sounds like he is getting desperate to adopt his girlfriend. This defense is a huge risk to the children trust. What if the plaintiff attorney tries to connect the girlfriend to the DWI which opens up the children trust.
