how about asking him?
This is an easy yes/no answer.
Better chance with a Repub in there than Obum. And with a Gingrich presidency, he would remove the import ban.
I know it would be cruel to the carbines, but they could get around the import restriction by pinning a ten round magazine into the receiver so that you would have to feed it with stripper clips.
Looking at what he did in Mass I am pretty sure I know the answer.
He would ban weapons that he could and severely regulate the rest. Forget concealed carry, black guns, and hi-cap magazines.
I haven’t heard anyone mention gun control yet, perhaps they know the answer as well.
LOL! I was thinking the same thing. Is it way more special than 100 round drums?

Obamas father liked M1 carbines too?
Sears probably sold the Universal Carbine.
The early ones were OK, then they cheapened the design.
I have one of the Universal 256Ferrets that I rebarrelled with a GI barrel. Shoots good. Can’t keep it in ammo though, the way my 2 Sons go through it.
The Garand has an internal magazine which can be reasonably quickly loaded with a stripper clip (you strip the rounds out of the clip and into the magazine.)
Odumbo’s beef with the carbine is that it has detachable “high-capacity” magazines. Those are inherently evil, and must be banned.
0bama fears TWO rifles behind every blade of grass instead of just one.

Well, yeah, I can’t argue with that. Those things have a mind of their own!

It’s ugly when they turn on their owner.
The only mil-spec mag sizes were 15-round and 30-round. The 30 round clip was developed for the M3 selective-fire carbine, but a lot of guys used them in thier M1s.
“Its ugly when they turn on their owner.”
Keep those thumbs out of “harm’s Way!”
Oh! I thought we were talking about the Garand.
Sorry.
I think it was the M2.
A carbine would be nice but what I really would like is some more of that inexpensive Korean 30.06 ammo in the Gerand bandoleers.
I’m down to my last can of ammo.
I can’t imagine the folks with their 1919s.
I have trouble supplying my Garand.
It isn’t just the magazines - it’s how easy it is to convert the carbine to full-auto. Not that I have a problem with that....
I've only seen them loaded using M1 en bloc clips which hold 8 rounds. These clips remain in the magazine until the last shot is fired, then are automatically ejected.
Personally, I think it is time to turn our thoughts to a REAL classic:
Now, THAT's a Carbine!
I would think that the threat of serious fines and potential jail time would minimize that possibility, as is the case with other semis.
