Breaking: CNN, ABC report Trump to endorse … Romney; Update: WaPo confirms it’s Romney

Say, isn’t this starting to resemble a certain reality-game show on television? Or would I be fired for pointing that out? Last night, reports surfaced that casino and real-estate tycoon Donald Trump would endorse Newt Gingrich in Nevada today, just two days before the binding caucuses. This morning, both CNN and ABC say that Trump will now endorse … Mitt Romney:

Mitt Romney will receive Donald Trump’s presidential endorsement Thursday, sources with knowledge of the endorsement told CNN.

Trump will make the announcement in Las Vegas, two days before the Nevada caucuses.

ABC is a little more specific about its sourcing:

Donald Trump will endorse Mitt Romney in Las Vegas on Thursday, sources familiar with the decision tell ABC News.

A political aide in Trump’s office spoke directly with Mitt Romney by phone last night before Trump’s private plane took off from New York City to Las Vegas.

The call, sources say, was to inform Romney of Thursday’s endorsement, which will take place at a 12:30 p.m. event at the Trump International Hotel on the Las Vegas strip.

A contracting company used by the Romney campaign has been setting up for the event since Wednesday night.

Why dump on Palin, Palin is Newt’s biggest supporter in this primary.

Agree with you. A Romney endorsement would have done Newt’s candidacy far more harm than good.

Bachman will be next on the Romney wagon. And Palin will campaign for him. Unless she truly plans on retiring. Which is what I would do if I was her.

I wasn’t dumping on Palin, but since you bring it up care to bet whether she will endorse Romney?

My tag used to be, I will vote for Palin even if I have to write her in. Caused me to much grief so I removed it back during the Palin bashing season.

I have accepted that we are now under judgement and no politician is going to fix it. Makes life easier no not get all upset when both parties lie to you.

You did it again, Palin is Newts biggest primary supporter, and you keep dumping on her and connecting her to Romney support.

Deal with the actual reality right now, Newt’s biggest supporter in America, in his 2012 primary race against Mitt Romney, is Governor Palin.

It’s not really online. To do a recovery we need all of congtess online and they ain’t. There’s no way to get all the members of congtess out that need to be out. Not without disastrous results.

If Trump were to endorse Newt, the MSM would say it shows Newt is a joke. If he endorses Romney, they’ll claim it’s some huge endorsement from a respected republican.

“Reality TV star, Donald Trump, who endorsed and contributed money to Harry Reid and Charlie Rangel will travel today to Nevada to endorse a Republican candidate?

Please explain to us why anyone would care.

Please explain to Republican voters in Nevada why they should consider the opinion of a billionaire from New York who endorsed the arch enemy of all Republicans in Nevada, and really the enemy of all Republicans in the US.

Hopefully, media reports of this event will include this delicious irony.”

I was using “online” and “recovery” as metaphors. If the country is one big computer a system restore won’t do. That’s what happens when you replace dem control with repub control. I say we need a complete “recovery”. In other words, put a disk in and wipe everything out then start over.

I am one of the biggest supports of Palin on this forum. I did not dump on her and I don't like people that do. She has not endorsed Gingrich and I doubt she will until Santorum drops out of the race.

If Romney is the eventual nominee, she has said, as as every talking head conservative, she will give him her 100% support. ABO.

I will write in before I vote for Romney, but where I live it doesn't really matter.

The Palins have been going out and endorsing Gingrich for weeks, Sarah is doing it in a style that gives her the opportunity to keep repeating it, and then to still get a big formal endorsement at some timely point.

Todd did formally endorse Newt, and you know that was done with Sarah’s political direction with them as a team.

Putting words from her husbands mouth into her's does not make it a fact. She has repeatedly said she want this primary to continue on how is that an endorsement? The only way it could continue on was if Newt made a good showing in SC. Her non endorsement, endorsement had little affect on Florida, when an unabashed endorsement might have done more, but that is pure speculation.

Stop trying to make this statement into a slam of Palin, whom I adore.

You don’t know the Palins if you think that Palin is not the candidate, the possible future President, the 20 year politician and office holder, and that Todd is a part of her team, her right arm and her echo. Todd is not out there on his own politically, he is part of her campaign.

Todd does not do anything political outside of her political agenda.

Todd endorsed because that showed the Palin endorsement, yet lets her keep showing up when need to dole out the next batch of her endorsement. She comes out and says basically, I am endorsing Newt for South Carolina, I am now endorsing Newt for Florida.
