I know that his parents weren’t citizens when he was born. Neither was Obama’s father. If that is the criteria, why the whole fight over where Obama was born if the undisputed fact of his father’s non-citizenship settles the matter.

I like Jindal but he needs to spend time in the Marines or the SEALS to get the physical gravitas needed to overcome his stature and physical presentation.

I spent a good bit of time in the Corps, but I don’t think anyone would vote for ME for President.

;-)

However, even little ole me would make a better President that either Obama or Biden.

But don't you believe the Corps would have added to Jindal's character?

The Corps is nothing if not about character!

“””However, even little ole me would make a better President that either Obama or Biden.”””

Your SHOES would make a better president than those two.

Jindal is young, articulate, brilliant, and has many major accomplishments. He is also a strict catholic and a decent man.

Yes, it probably would have. But that makes it sound as if he's somehow deficient in character now. I don't see that.

"why the whole fight over where Obama was born if the undisputed fact of his father’s non-citizenship settles the matter"

Because the whole point of fighting over where he was born was designed to obfuscate and misdirect everyone away from the undisputed fact of his father’s non-citizenship, and his consequent ineligibility for the Office of President..

The fact that we can't even get this right here on FreeRepublic makes me wonder whether this is an example of the blindness prophesied for the end times.

Yes, the Corps is about Character, Honor & Commitment.

We all. including Gov Jindal, can always benefit from MORE of these virtues.

The problem is, as Mr. H.G Parker, rest his soul, told me about 48 years ago, “There’s just no demand for good men these days.” At least in politics.

Our pop culture, media and even academe do their best (worst?) to chew up & spit out good men & women. Look at the treatment given to Cheney, Bork, Palin & Cain.

What do they give us instead? “For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.” 2 Timothy 4:3

Bread & circuses, bread & circuses.
