Liberals are working to dumb down their kids even more than ever. The evidence has been coming in now, that physical exercise and especially challenging exercise contributes to brain development. A generation of idiot educrats has done significant harm to the neural development of children.

In this instance I blame overzealous/over-protective parents and lawyers, and schools afraid of lawsuits, more than anything else. You'd be surprised how heavily involved the insurance companies can be when new schools are being built. It's ridiculous what lawyers have found to sue over and so the insurance companies do everything possible to make the playground one big flat area of ground-up tires.

I'm surprised there aren't ads on TV from lawyers asking if you've ever tripped and fell on a playground.

Come to think of it, one of these days there will be lawyers on TV asking if you've ever played on a playground that had shredded tires as the surface. They'll find some chemical that caused %0.00005 of lab rats to have cancer.

I also blame the school districts that build schools with tiny playgrounds. If you're not going to add real playground equipment, at least making them big enough the kids can run around on and play soccer or kickball on.
