Coastal glaciers always calve and icebergs always melt a bit when it's summertime (Dec. 21 to Mar. 21) in the Antarctic. The sun being up 24 hours a day in those parts at this time of year might have something to do with this.

It is contrary to the nature of their job, but considering how generally ignorant and frequently stupid most reporters are it would be nice if they just shut up for awhile. It would give the rest of us time for our eye muscles to recover from excessive rolling each time we come across one of these articles.
