After strong jobs report, Obama tells Congress 'don't muck it up'
The Hill ^ | 2/3/12 | Amie Parnes

Saying the economy is “growing stronger,” President Obama issued a strong warning to Congress on Friday: “Do not slow down the recovery ... don't muck it up!" Speaking at a fire house in Arlington, Va. — hours after a jobs report showed the unemployment rate dropped from 8.5 to 8.3 percent — a fiery Obama said Washington has to do everything in its power to help the economy. He urged Congress to pass a payroll tax cut extension without drama and delay. “They just need to get it done, [it] shouldn’t be that complicated,” Obama said.

The only reason the reported unemployment percentage is falling is ... Well, there are two reasons.

First and foremost, it is so hussein can try to get re-elected. That number is going to continue to go down as we approach the election - I don't care what reality is, I will guaran-damn-tee you that number will not go above 9% again, may even drop into the 7% range.

Second, how are they doing this? Well, they could just outright lie to us - and they are certainly not above that, they have and continue to on a number of topics. Here they can simply use statistics to lie to us. They can quite easily get the unemployment percentage to go down by removing people from the workforce. They justify this by saying that if someone hasn't actively looked for work in say 4 weeks, they are no longer part of the workforce. Now, put a bunch of people on long, long term unemployment benefits and they will simply not look for work. You can then reduce that number, and viola! Instant, false, and totally contrived reduction in unemployment. Oh, and for extra fun - paid for by you and me.

Speaking of muck, how’s the Solyndra investigation going? The $26 billion the car companies (sans Ford) owe the American taxpayer? Where’s the accounting of the $35 billion wasted on the Department of Energy? And just how much do you plan to piss away bailing out student loans, deadbeat mortgage holders, and union payoffs in order to steal votes.

Whatta putz.

That number is going to continue to go down as we approach the election...

I think there is something more sinister going about...

This is nothing more than zer()'s election platform, of not just a do-nothing congress, but one that mucks things up. The numbers are artificially lowered with the removal of 1.2 million unemployed from the rolls. What he will have happen, now that he knows he can manipulate the #'s, and to what extent %-wise... he'll have the unemployment become "worse" as the election nears, and claim it's congress "mucking it up", after he got things so rosy in February.

Obama’s bureaucrats release a bunch of numbers and all is well in Mudville. The people living in this country are stupid. They need to get off the sofa, turn the TV off and get out more. They need to see for themselves what is REALLY going on with the eoncomy.

The economy lost 2,488,000 jobs between December 11, 2011 and January 11, 2012... so says the CBO report. If anyone here believes these government numbers after obamasauce is applied to them (seasonally adjusted)... they are gullable fools.

“The last time the Senate passed a budget was April 29, 2009, which was, if you are counting — and Jeff Sessions is — 755 days ago.”

And when did Barry take office? 2009. He mucked it up.

The Solyndra investigation is going nowhere- just like this investigation. As long as the DemocRATs control the Senate, nothing will happen. Obama thumbs his nose at Congress.
