This is all a giant set up imo. The left wants brinker out and let her do her thing so they could sit back, eat their popcorn and wait for the fallout.
Here’s my prediction:
1. Brinker will resign or stepdown within the month.
2. New president will be a fulltime abortion rights womyn.
3. Komen will be a front for funnelling money to womyn’s health and rights orgs and abndon its focus on just breast cancer.
Very insightful. It think you may have something there. Liberal groups are like viruses attacking cells and sucking the life out of them. The libs may have looked at the billion plus dollars that Komen takes in and then devised a way to get their people on the board waiting for the perfect opportunity to oust the founder. I have often wondered why most of the foundations and charities are controlled by liberals, now I think I know.
Other posters are saying that Susan G. Komen has been giving to Planned Parenthood for years and that this was known among many Christians. This changes my theory about what has happened. I think now that there was perhaps an effort to *out* Susan G. Komen and so Nancy Brinker got out in front of the story to do damage control, trying to maintain the donations from many pro-life donors.
Here is a story from Forbes concerning what has been going on at Susan G. Komen. There had been a congressional investigation of Planned Parenthood by Rep. Cliff Stearns. Karen Heindel is the senior vice president for public policy, she has advocated for the defunding of Planned Parenthood. It is possible that the pro-life staff of Susan G. Komen were threatening to reveal the Planned Parenthood connection, so Nancy Brinker felt that she had to go public to reverse the pro-Planned Parenthood policies. This scenario makes more sense than a recent hostile take over attempt from the left.

Maybe in private. But in public, the money will still be raised to support breast cancer research. But in reality, they already abandoned that focus in private when they made their first donation to the leading abortion provider in the United States.
