Santorum Unlikely To Make Indiana Ballot
Buzzfeed ^ | Feb 3, 2012 at 2:21pm EST | Rosie Gray

Rick Santorum is on the verge of being left off the ballot in the the Indiana primary, three sources told BuzzFeed Friday.

The former Pennsylvania senator is more than 30 signatures short of the 500 needed in the 7th Congressional district, which includes Marion County, where Indianapolis is located, a source close to the Santorum campaign said.

The Marion County chief deputy of voter registration on the Democratic side, Scott Carr, confirmed that Santorum had not submitted 500 valid signatures. An Indiana Republican source said Santorum is "a couple dozen" signatures short, but that Newt Gingrich will be on the ballot.

The Indiana Primary won't be held until May 8, and is unlikely to be decisive in any event, but Santorum's shortfall cuts against some of his supporters hopes that he will rise as Newt Gingrich falls to provide a final challenger to Mitt Romney.

I can understand missing a filing or something like that, but why cut the number so close when it is such a small number? Man, 500 is not much...IN folks must not like Rick too much.

** This is what irritates me about Santorum. He is helping Romney.

I like Santorum a lot. I really do.

But if you can't come up with 500 supporters, then either you lack popularity, or you lack organizational skills. Both features are pretty important in a big league politician. Perhaps this explains Rick's current placement in the polls.

Missing the ballot by 30 votes? Isn’t there one guy there with a clipboard to hit the pavement in that area? This could be done in an hour.

Apparently, it’s too late.

“The deadline has passed for filing signatures to appear on the ballot in the May 8 primary. The current figures, though, aren’t final: the county board of elections will double-check the number of signatures. “

The best he can hope for is that the recount ‘finds’ the 30 extra votes he needs.

Santorum collected plenty of signatures from across Indiana, but fell just shy in one congressional district - he had 800 signatures from Marion County, but Marion is split between two districts, and not enough of the 800 were from the 7th district.

And by helping Romney he is helping “The Divine One” in his bid for reelection.

Again and again, Rick misses ballot after ballot and fails over and over again to field delegates in other states.

He has a whopping 8 delegates, and hasn’t gained a single one since Iowa.

He can’t win, but everyone knows he’s angling for the V.P. slot. It’s just sad that Rick knows the damage he is going to do, and could care less.

Lots of Paul signs in So Indiana. Today's shirt is pink...Was gonna honor "for the cure" until they backpeddled

That in mind. If Santorum is Not on Ballot it will be between romney and NEWT

Why is Bishop Willard Mitt Romney not using his title? What is he trying to hide? Do we want the elder of any faith to serve as President? Would we want a Catholic, Anglican, Methodist Bishop serving as president? Is it even constitutional? We need to have this conversation now!

I don't understand how politicians think. I could work really hard and try to get myself elected Holy Roman Emperor -- but the fact that the Empire no longer exists would probably get in my way.

Santorum may want to be VP, but his actions are making it so that the only viable VP is going to be Joe Biden. So -- Rick -- why bother?

We won’t be hearing about “Bishop Willard Romney” until the General election, when the MSM will hammer Romney with it day in and day out until November.

1) You should actually watch a video of an atheist debating a Christian. The Christian wins every time.

2) If you think that #1 is a subjective statement, I read in the book “That Their Words May Be Used Against Them”, that a prominent atheist implored fellow atheists to “avoid debates”. Because despite the adherence of the atheist to the “faith” that there is no God, all their arguments fall flat as not convincing.

I advise you to reconsider your position. There is a vast gulf of difference between Christianity and a cult.

Please see http://www.waltermartin.com/cults.html for details. The book has a metric ton of more information. The sections about the history of Mormonism and Jehovah’s Witnessism are at least 100 pages each, and extremely interesting.

Have a great day.

That’s why I’m trying to get the word out now....Have a few that point out he no longer is a Bishop, but the MSM won’t note that....PLUS the conversation needs to happen now...Conservatives need to take the lead IMO.

Ask questions. Ask Rush, Hannity, O’Really etc.
Someone needs to lead the discussion. PLEASE do your part.

“had not submitted 500 valid signatures.”

Who decides if the 30, or so, signatures are valid?

This is done a lot to 3rd party candidates by the major parties, and I wonder if something bogus was determined on 30 of Santorum’s signatures.

Earlier this week, I thought maybe Santorum was a conservative candidate who could win, and that maybe Gingrich was too damaged to recover. However, now that Santorum is running negative ads against Newt and not going after Romney, I’m starting to think he is not in it to win it; he’s just being a pest.

And so the discussion begins....

We’re studying in Sunday School class what each Christian faith begins.

Very informative...May suggest we look into others as well.
