PRINCETON, NJ -- Mississippi remains the most conservative state in the union, and, along with Utah, Wyoming, and Alabama, is one of four states with 50% or more of its population identifying as conservative. At the other end of the ideological spectrum, 40% District of Columbia residents and 30% of Massachusetts residents identify as liberal; all other states have a liberal population of 26% or less.

But I know...Oklahoma was the only state in the nation where every county was lost by Obama in 2008
Just from seeing pictures, the Northeast is really beautiful country. Unfortunately it is infested with liberals.
I have some in laws who live in upstate New York. They are even more conservative than me. I am sure there are many others but overall it must be awful.
The ex-Great State of Texas isn’t in the Conservative list because we’ve been invaded with liberals from California and the northern states. Throw in the voting illegals and what have you got...
LLS
Yes, liberals would make that point. I would say that one reason is largest black population percentage-wise of any state. A very small reason might be Mississippi’s refusal in at least some matters to buckle under to PC and being willing to pay the price-ie, the threats of boycotts due to the flag vote. Mississippi voted to keep the flag. But the PC appeasers in Mississippi are catching up (Colonel Reb, Dixie).
Those libs might be interested, or not, to know that in spite of Mississippi’s low income, it’s also the state which for some years has been number 1 in charitable giving. I recall that a Northeast state comes in last.
You betcha! This primary race would have started out entirely different.
Here is the latest list of MOST and LEAST charitable states:

I sure thought I was on your ping list FRiend.
There is a petition circulating (Inititave #37) that could require a ballot inititive that if passed would add an amendment to the State Constitution that would require “Colonel Reb”in his traditional costumed appearance, to be visible as an active mascot on the sidelines of University of Missippi athletic events. It would also require the logo to be on helmets uniforms, letterheads, and practically all university publications.
Three things we love in Mississippi, Jesus, fried catfish and sweet tea.
I love Mississippi.
I wonder what changed, since Mississippi was in the top spot for some years running, if I recall correctly. Well at least it’s still not in the least generous, not too bad for the poorest state.
I love Mississippi too:) Long may we remain under the radar, it’s never a good thing when we get media attemtion.
attemtion=attention.
Another bullshit poll by the liberal monkey grinders at Gallup.
In the South Carolina 2010 primaries, every RINO was thrown out of office. In the 2010 general election, every rat was thrown out of national office in SC except for one. Statewide, no rat holds office. The state legislature is dominated by Republicans. SC has a republican governor.
And SC doesn’t even get a mention in this crap poll.
You want to see a mindbender regarding Missippy?
Here ya’ go!
I live in brain dead Oregon, and can’t wait to get back to Mississippi.
BTW, Mississippi might be considered the poorest state, it’s also the state with one of the lowest costs of living, and the most charitable state per capita in the country.
And, SeekandFind...I didn’t see anything in your link about “per capita” charitable giving.
I’ve been looking at different polls, they all seem to have different (but not drastically so) results, but Mississippi is never near the bottom in any of them. The one that has placed Mississippi at the top for consecutive years is the “Generosity Index”. Also, Mississippi comes in at the top for “most religious state”. Of course that would be a negative result to a liberal.
Myself, I don’t care where we come in these polls, the best thing for Mississippi is our usual state of being when no one remembers our existence :)
My great home state of Mississippi is only 53.4% conservative?? We’ve got to do better than this! When I grew up there, it was at least 80% conservative.
I’m presently living out of state but sad to see this decline. Still, Mississippi and its people are the best!
I live in Oregon. These people are education snobs. I guess it’s okay to pick on Mississippi, as they do here. However, the information in the link shows that Oregon, and most of the Northwest, is brain dead where it concerns science.
Mississippi...not so much.
I was so happy to see this!
I’m building another home in Mississippi. I told my husband and family that I’m not going to die here. Given the atmosphere here, my husband is getting excited about being able to spend time in a true blue red state.
LOL!
I’ve watched Oregon become a living hell because of the influx of libs from SoCal. It was a very nice state when I moved her 20 years ago. Since then, a lot of libs sold their homes at exorbitant prices in SoCal, moved here and bought mansions. They’ve driven up real estate costs a great deal, though the land use laws here haven’t helped, either.
Don’t you fret. I’m not telling anybody about MS, unless I can’t help it. I will let them think we are a poor, inner city type state, and smile on the way out. ;o)
In my neck of the woods, most out of state retirees are Navy. I like those kind of n00bs. They are there, not just because of the base, but because they love living there.
