Santorum cannot beat Obama and does not even have the meagre charism that some people seem to see in Romney. If Romney gets the nomination, I suspect he’ll be Romney’s VP candidate to win over the social conservatives.

Also, he’ll be no threat to Romney. He shares the same big-government ideas, has an equally unpleasant personality and grating style of speech, and has virtually no accomplishments or record to speak of, so he certainly wouldn’t overshadow Mr. Nobody Romney.

Well, I think Gingrich is the best of the bunch but the only candidate I see who clearly wants a small government is Ron Paul. Too bad he talks about foreign policy like he's been hit with one too many Tomahawk missiles.

Actually speculation is that Romney would pick Christie for vp. He doesn’t care about conservatives. He’s trying to get through this onerous process so he can move on to ‘moderates’ and liberals. He’s only talking conservative because that’s what the moment requires.
