I think about some of the great players of the 50s and 60s and they must be absolutely aghast at what the game has become. Especially the amount of money that is tossed around. These kids that celebrate a big play when their team is down by 20 point are a disgrace. Yeah, you are so special that your team is losing. It’s less about the team and more about the individual.

Cleveland had some great teams and players back then. I think that there are too many teams today as well. The talent is diluted. However, the NFL is a major cash cow. They will not cut teams.

Exactly! The celebrating is disgusting! Green Bays much overrated Jermichael Finley is a good example. He’s earned the nickname “Hands of Stone” in GB. He’s had a lousy season, but the few balls he did manage to hang onto he would celebrate like he just caught the winning TD in the SB. I remember when just spiking the ball in the end zone was considered over-celebrating. The league needs to start handing out lots more 15 yard penalties for over celebrating. Thats the only way it can be stopped. When teams start losing games as a direct result of a player over celebrating, maybe players will think twice before going into their “hey, look at me!” routines. And the pre-game choreographed team “dances?” Thats another stomach turner.
