WH: Women 'Deserve' to Have Catholic Church Buy Them Sterilizations...and Abortifacients

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Monday that American women "deserve" to have their employers buy them health insurance plans that cover sterlizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that cause abortions, with no fees or co-pay, even if the employer is a Catholic or Catholic organization that adheres to the church teaching that sterilization, artificial contraception and abortifacients are morally wrong and that Catholics cannot be involved in them.

"I understand that there have been objections and that some people disagree with us and we are going to work with institutions that have concerns here," Carney told reporters. "But I think it's important to note here that we believe these services are important and that American women deserve to have access to that kind of insurance coverage regardless of where they work."

Why is it wrong to use contraception? Isn’t it the moral thing to do if you do not want to have children or you are not quite ready to?

What about a married couple who cannot afford to have them? What if the woman is mentally ill and is on meds she can’t stop taking?

Why can’t a married couple make love without having kids? What is wrong with that? They’re married,so it’s not as though they are not committed to each other.

All doctors have taken the Hippocratic oath, which forbids giving a woman a pessary (abortion inducing device).

They want doctors to violate their oath. Once you convince someone that they are evil and beyond saving, they will do whatever you require.

Here's a question (not a "gotcha" question, it's a real "I'd like to unbderstand your point of view" question:)

Do you ythiunk it's morally accepotable for a married couple to opt for exclusively anal sex, because it's agreed to by both of them and it won't lead to pregnancy?

I don’t understand the “birth control is a sin” point of view.

How is it a sin? Isn’t it the moral and responsible thing to do if a couple is not ready and /or willing to have children? Why should a husband and wife be deprived of sex just because they do not want to reproduce? It’s not fair to bring a child into this world because of religious obligation. I don’t care if you are Catholic,Protestant or Jewish. There are already so many children on this Earth who can’t be taken care of or who are not wanted. They need good homes.

Would G-d want more unwanted children brought into this world simply because of a religious obligation? Wouldn’t He want a couple to abstain from bringing a child into this world if they can’t be cared for or wanted?

This is nothing sinful about a husband and a wife having sex without procreating.

I don’t believe anal sex is moral or immoral. It’s just gross and goes against nature.

So you say that if a married man-woman couple opts of anal sex because it's consensual for both of them and it avoids pregnancy, there's no moral objection. OK.

Do you say the same for a married man-man couple? (Again, just asking in order to get an idea of what you think about moral questions.)
