Lots of commies in education.
I tend to disagree. The profits do flow back to the workers, however miniscule. The problem is that because they receive the profits of the producers under the above systems, they do the least or nothing to get those profits and never benefit from their own natural desire to achieve more.
I remember the communes of the 60's and have first hand experience why they didn't work: Too many, working too hard for the benefit of others, while many wouldn't work as hard. The productive types got fed up and left - think California.
Something I find fascinating and is rarely discussed is China's current economic/political system. Although they are still totalitarian politically, they are nothing like they used to be in economic terms before they inherited Hong Kong from the Brits.
China's leaders quickly discovered that free enterprise was the engine that would allow them to have a huge GDP for years. Yes, you can say the Chinese leaders did it for their own survival, but still, they grow because of individual enterprise. Just look how many Chinese companies are on the NY and Amex stock exchanges. They even have their own stock exchange now. They wised up about economics and do much to encourage entreprenuership. Too bad so many other nations, including the US are going in the opposite direction.
So while I agree with you in theory, I do know that work "profits" whether be cabbage or carrots do flow back to the "workers" in socialist/communist systems. They just don't get much of anything.
Think: our welfare queens and kings. They would love to have more (even when they moan about the rich, they still buy lottery tickets hoping to be rich), but are okay with just getting by without effort. Of course, getting by on others' dime in this and other countries is having a solid roof, car, TV, fridge, computer, smart phone, latest athletic shoes, etc. So yes, socialism/communism promotes lack of incentive.
The ‘theory’ is a worker’s paradise. The reality is a gulag.
To solve this little problem, you have to implement fences, armed guards and whips.
The leftists that you can get to admit this fact all think they'll be the ones holding the whip.
Perfect! Your example also applies to socialism.
“...on the communism side, it does qualify the standard of living being more equal as “in theory.””...
Not to argue with you necessarily, but I no longer accept that “communism works on paper, just not in real life” thingie any more.
No it doesn’t, because we are talking about a human system, and no way does it work if humans are involved. And, if they’re not included, there is no system, so it’s a silly, illogical, pointless argument from the get-go.
Bingo, Suzy. Here’s another article from the same author on this very subject - http://www.thenewamerican.com/opinion/selwyn-duke/10519-silly-things-we-hear-communism-works-on-paper
Make ONE of them do all the work and offer to pay him/her.
Then take most of it away and give it to the siblings. And when they wail and complain, tell them THATS what is wrong with communism.
Of course, the ones who RECEIVE the money for doing nothing, will be happy - until next weekend when you make the same offer.
When the child who did all the work refuses to do it and get snookered again -and they end up with nothing, tell the others THATS ALSO whats wrong with communism
Brilliant. Simple, succinct and to the point. This should be published far and wide...
Propaganda is the only tool socialists have to offer, see Obama&Co.
I am, but mostly from the cartoon.
Which, given the state of education, may be all the students can understand...
The schools have long implied this, but this is the first time I’ve heard of it being done openly.
