There were a bunch of bondholders who were totally screwed and never got anything "paid back."

When a company is allowed to welch on legal debts, reorganizes, issues "new" stock and goes on about its business without any obligation, that is called bankruptcy. Only the liars in Washington including Bush could ask you to believe otherwise.

That decision by Obozo undermined the very core of contract law in our country.

There is absolutely no reason for anyone to honor signed contracts after that move.

It began with that bizarre inauguration speech, and went further off the rails from there. Some of it was Rove's incompetent advice but it was Bush's call all the way. Yeah, a very bad four years.

Reagan DID NOT do the same thing for Chrysler.

Get your facts straight.

I knew our goose was cooked when GWB gave the I am going to spend my political capital” speech and the first thing he did in February 2005 was try to ram amnesty through.

It went downhill from there. I see GWB on the TV and am disgusted by the sight of him.

Well then he hasn't learned a damn thing since September 2008 about the nature of the world.

I liked Dubya, voted for him twice, and he was better than the alternative!

The same will be said about the 2012 election...I'm voting Republican, because voting for a second Obama term is unthinkable.

And I don't care how much you guys tell me there isn't a difference between the two "establishment" parties. There is.

“Ex-President George W. Bush tells auto dealers he’d bail out automakers again” Does stupidity know no bounds? Hundreds of billions of dollars, and do we have competitive automakers? No. GWB stated in one state of the union speech that “Victory in afghanistan and iraq would not be like those of our fathers and grandfathers” (He was right about that) but after Trillions of dollars, Do we have democracy or Islamic-states-in-waiting? GWB and Obama gave banks $Trillions. Have we fixed our financial problems? GWB-Obama are the worst pair of presidents ever. For democracy, for freedom, for prosperity.”

Don’t forget the billions of taxpayer dollars he “pledged” to Africa to fight AIDs, as though it were his own money.

Bush + boondoggles = fleeced taxpayers

We have "bailed" out the whole Bush family for decades. None of the lot of them have ever really worked. Without government support they would all be broke.

None of them understand what it takes to make a dollar. And why should they? They are at the trough big time.

See the picture above? That is George P. Bush. Get used to the face. He is being groomed in Texas to be the next Bush to milk us for as much as he can.

GWB is the direct cause of Obama. Had GWB even had a remotely responsible second term, the idea of Obama would never have been imaginable.

the entire Bush crime family are a plague on this nation, no different than Clintons, obamas, etc.

And never forget that GWB, PBUH, flew all the saudi douchebags out of the US right after 9/11 as well as gave us the “Religion of Peace” moniker. I hate the Bushes and most of the other legacy Repubs!!

You are a stooge who is a apologizing for bailouts.

The auto bailouts have not been paid back. In fact they have be revised upward.

The only thing worse than a crook is a lying crook.

Actually look at the tremendous increase in Muslim immigration since Bush Sr. which continued under Clinton, GW Bush, and Obama. Conservatives have had less than stellar choices starting with the Election of 1988.

I wont blame you entirely if Obama is elected but always remember you did your part

You can blame yourself and others like you for cowardly giving up and not holding the line if Romney is the nominee and Obama wins.

I havent given up on anything except I no longer believe there is enough sanity at FR to do the country any good.....I have one vote in the New Mexico primary and I will exercise it..... Do you have a better idea? No I think not.... as you are on here huffing and puffing as if any of your words mean something

He'd probably pass Medicare Part D and support the creation of the TSA and the Dept. of Homeland Security as well. Decent man, but a Big Government Republican like his father. And like Mitt Romney, John McCain, Bob Dole, Gerald Ford, Richard M. Nixon, etc. With the sole exception of Ronald Reagan, the GOP offers the nation Democrat-lite - a steady diet of Big Government advocates, who believe that the answer to any problem can be found by creating a new federal bureaucracy. It's time for a political party committed to shrinking the size and power of the government.
