Apples and oranges. Would Newt have had the opportunity to work with Clintoon if he had to run in a swing or blue state with his ACU rating? The goal now is to win enough Reagan Dems and Swing State voters to win the Presidency without selling out, not work with the other party. If Newt wasn’t in a super Conservative district, his ACU rating would have been much lower.
