What Santorum’s Wins Mean [ObamaCare and Obama's Pro-abortion]
NRO ^ | February 7, 2012 | Kathryn Jean Lopez

By Kathryn Jean Lopez February 7, 2012 11:21 P.M.'

I was just chatting with our friend Larry Kudlow, who shared his read of Santorum’s victories (Minnesota and Missouri, as I blog): It’s a referendum on Obamacare and the Department of Health and Human Services mandate. What’s Santorum known for? His “steadfast pro-life defense.” Larry surmises: “A vote for Rick Santorum tonight was the easiest and most immediate voter path to protest Obamacare and Obama’s pro-abortion view.”

I agree with some of that he wrote. I took some of it as sending a message to the GOP, no Romney. Newt didn't campaign in those states, Rick did, paid off.

Pro-Life will always be a bigger issue in the Republican Party than Illegal Immigration.

But, frankly, both of these issues amount to nothing compared to the coming fiscal collapse of the country.

Missouri was the first state in the nation to reject the individual mandate in 2010. Every single county in Missouri voted for Santorum who opposed Obamacare and who opposed the individual mandate. He’s the only candidate who opposed the individual mandate who is currently in the running. Obama’s recent attack on the Catholic Church played a part in Santorum’s victories as well. Love him or hate him, Santorum is on the right side of the health care issue and he’s energizing the evangelical vote that Obama would have to depend on to win re-election.

The electoral math, so far, shows the green guy doing way better than the blue guy. Even without a billionaire sugar daddy.

Nebraska has five electoral votes. The overall winner gets the two votes that equate to the senate seats, and the congressional district electoral votes are allocated to whoever wins that particular district. Maine is the same way - so both states are not winner-take-all like the rest.

-—“A vote for Rick Santorum tonight was the easiest and most immediate voter path to protest Obamacare and Obama’s pro-abortion view-—

I am seeing Divine Providence here. At least I hope so.

I felt defeated when Sarah declined. But I said to myself, trust God. Rick may be the better candidate. He appears to me to be a better spokesman for conservatism, especially social conservatism. And he may stand the best chance of defeating Obama.

I would think last night;s vote would be a rebuke of both. Romneycare is so closely aligned w/Obamacare that one would have to assume any rebuke of the latter would imply a rebuke of the former. Romney supporters, of course, will try to “spin” this as not having anything to do w/his policies or candidacy.

“A vote for Rick Santorum tonight was the easiest and most immediate voter path to protest Obamacare and Obama’s pro-abortion view.”

Both 0care and 0’s views on abortion have been there since the first primary. They, along with a long laundry list of other moronic views of the 0 administration, will boost Santorum’s campaign.

However, I think the two big factors in the HUGE Santorum wins yesterday were that 0bamney and Newt both look quite tarnished right now, and 0’s administration brilliantly decided to force Catholics to provide birth control by government mandate.

I think Santorum has done a better job focusing on Romneycare than Newt has. And it has paid off for him.

Only time will tell if this represents a lasting surge for Santorum or if it is just the latest gyration in the quest to be the anti-Romney.

I could support either Newt or Santorum. May the strongest man win. I'm not going to bad-mouth either (altough I do lean towards Newt), I will save my fire for Romney, RuPaul and Obama, three deserving targets. Paul really isn't worth bothering about any more, he has shown yet again that he is in it to build up his campaign contribution warchest for his retirement.

When and under what circumstances did Aldo Santorum naturalize?
