As Rick Santorum counted up his victories Tuesday night, a senior adviser to Mitt Romney signaled the campaign would take a tougher approach toward his resurgent rival and portray him as a Washington insider.

This line of attack won’t work. We’ve seen all the Washington D.C. insiders and establishment money rallying to Romney not Santorum.

Post S. Carolina and pre-Florida, Romney and Gingrich drew the battleships of their respective campaigns broadside and proceeded to launch verbal attack after verbal attack upon one another. It got so ugly that both ships were listing in regard to how voters felt about the two candidates by the end of that states’ primary.
Along comes Rick Santorum on a dinghy, and blows them both completely out of the water with the twin torpedoes of truth and perseverence. For good measure he strafed them with the .50 cal of solid (not great) conservative principles with the courage to stand up for conservatism.
Both of the once fearsome battleships are wounded, not sunk. They will be back in the fight. But only the S.S. Romney has the captain at the helm that will drop a nuke on that little row-boat that could.
I’ve always liked the little guys in life. The ones that no one gave a chance to. The ones the bullies picked on because they could.
Once in high school wood shop, one of these little guys was being physically picked on and humiliated by a couple of large jock types. That day I proved to myself that I won’t fight for the little guys, but I WILL hand them a two-by-four, stand back and enjoy the carnage.

When our circular firing squad has finished it’s work, and the latest iteration of flavor of the month is safely under the bus, the writing on the wall will be a bumper sticker that says Ron Paul. Read it and weep.
It comes down to one word. When I tell my linguine spined Romneybot “friends” that I refuse to vote for their guy and they ask what he could possibly be lacking that I have missed, I simply say “Honor”. I would use the word “Integrity” too but most of ‘em don’t know what it means.

This is what happens when you allow a Democrat to run in the Republican primary. He does as much damage as possible to the real Republican candidates. It is a win-win for Romney. He’d rather have Obama win re-election than see him lose to any of the conservative Republican candidates. Same goes for Paul.
Romney better tread VERY CAREFULLY. If he tries to DESTROY Rick like he did Newt, all hell will be unleashed on Romney.

Contrary to popular belief and contrary to my initial conclusion, I don’t believe that Romney will turn up the heat of Santorum.... he won’t need to.
Regardless of yesterdays events, I doubt that Romney sees Santorum as much of a threat.
However, Trump might very well throw a few darts and of course Fox-GOP-e news will do Romney’s dirty work.
It seems to me that in the long run, it’s better for Romney if he continues to hammer against Newt.
