Driving a volt would now stigmatize the driver.
Many drive vehicles that make a statement about themselves (by nature and often by intent).
What the hell does a Volt say about it’s owner....LIBERAL! Pure and simple.
Buyers from three groups will buy volts:
1 Government agencies
2. Companies who will get a pr benefit with their clients.
3 Rich people who don’t care if it works or not for the money. It’s cool, it’s rare, They’ll probably never drive it out of the neighborhood since they’ve got six other cars for that, and it looks nice next to the segway.
Real people won’t touch it with a ten foot pole.
So, zero commitment, zero obligation and free to get ... it's almost as if the car is intended to be given to people to abuse. Well, why not ... it's only the US taxpayers who paid for this thing ....
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
By the way they advertise that this car gets 40 miles on a charge. Actual users have claimed about 18 miles on a full charge. So the extended range must get about 25 miles?
These cars won't even come close to fitting in with the California drive everywhere lifestyle.
I expect they’ll accept EBT’s for the lease monthly payments, too, from OBAMA MOTORS?
Why does the Volt have a rear-window defroster? So you can keep your hands warm while you push it.
Why does a bag of marshmellows come with each volt in the glove compartment? So you can roast them while you wait for the fire department...
“The latter Volts will qualify for stickers that let solo drivers in high-occupancy-vehicle lanes,.....”
So these catastrophe’s waiting to happen are to be privileged.
What is the difference between the Volt and the Edsel?
There is a market for used Edsels.
Now that GM has BO and the Dems as a partner the profit motive has been declared to be a dirty word...
...GM will end up like the Post Office. British industries went threw this agony after WWII.
Tax and license should be about $7,000. The yearly driving allowance is 6,000 miles and I doubt the car can do even that.
