J.C. Penney CEO on Ellen DeGeneres controversy
CBS ^ | February 9, 2012 8:47 AM

Posted on 02/09/2012 6:56:53 AM PST by narses

(CBS News) J.C. Penney is trying to rebuild its customer base with help from a new spokeswoman, Ellen DeGeneres. But a group called One Million Moms is accusing the company of "jumping on the pro-gay bandwagon."

DeGeneres responded to the group on her TV show Wednesday, saying, "I'm happy about (being the spokesperson) J.C. Penney is happy about it. But there's this group called One Million Moms that is not happy about it. And normally I try not to pay attention to my haters, but this time I'd like to talk about it because my haters are my motivators. This organization doesn't think I should be the spokesperson because I am gay. So for those of you tuning in for the first time, I'm gay. I hope you were sitting down. ... So they wanted to get me fired, and I'm proud and happy to say that J.C. Penney stuck by their decision to make me their spokesperson."

In a statement last week, J.C. Penney said it stands behind its partnership the talk show host.

On "CBS This Morning," Thursday, J.C. Penney chief executive officer Ron Johnson, said the company "shares the same values" as DeGeneres and that the decision to have her as a spokesperson was a "no-brainer."

"We don't look at it like a controversy. One of the great things about America is people can speak their mind. And you know, the organization that believes one thing has spoken and it was great to see Ellen share her views yesterday. And we stand squarely behind Ellen as our spokesperson and that's a great thing. Because she shares the same values that we do in our company. Our company was founded 110 years ago on the golden rule, which is about treating people fair and square, just like you would like to be treated yourself. And we think Ellen represents the values of our company and the values that we share."

I doubt it, they are more likely to be influenced by the behaviour of adults who attack what appears to be an otherwise positive person for a single flaw. That is the behaviour that is associated with bullying which is a major problem with our youth.

Keep your filth away from our children.

Anyone who doesn’t keep their sexual perversion private is a militant. It means they’re pushing on the public as an agenda.

Sexual pervsion is a mental illness and immoral. It should be in the closet.

Ellen's new “bullying” campaign ‘IT GETS BETTER’.

This was started right after that college boy committed suicide. They claimed he did it because some kids filmed him in his room with a way older man, and showed it to others.

Meanwhile, he had been putting HIMSELF on a Internet web site for homosexuals, naked and playing with himself, advertising for sex. His words were right there! WE on FR all saw it with our own eyes the very week he killed himself.

Of course, “nice” Ellen nor the media ever mentioned that.

It is sicking the way they lie, you should read the ‘IT ONLY GETS BETTER’ site. Here is their claim:

“Many LGBT youth can't picture what their lives might be like as openly gay adults. They can't imagine a future for themselves. So let's show them what our lives are like, let's show them what the future may hold in store for them.”

So “nice” Ellen is encouraging our sons to continue (or begin) anal sex....that it will only get better!

Insane! (after working on a hospital wing with homosexuals in their 30s, 40s, and on up, who are unable to contain their own feces anymore)

God help us.

I’ve had many, many a run-in on the Moral Absolutes pinged out threads. Probably Homosexual Agenda threads too. They’re sort of magnets, if you get my drift!

There is no business sense in running polarizing radical politics out of Corporate offices.

But here's where I worry we've turned a corner in the wrong direction. More and more corporations feel perfectly comfortable embracing the homosexual agenda (and defending their decisions to do so). Google, Starbucks, Microsoft and many others stated their support for gay marriage before the vote in Washington state this week. Most Fortune 500 companies provide benefits for gay "married" couples, etc.

The people running these companies aren't stupid. They do their homework, and they know what consumers will and won't tolerate. They must be looking at data that tells them these sorts of actions will not harm their businesses in the long run. And that's what worries me more: not that companies are doing these things, but that their research tells them the American public will accept these things.

I have to agree -- I worked in the arts for many years and knew many homosexual persons. Because of my initial acceptance, they allowed me to know what was really in their lives. It changed my view forever. I still love people and hate the sin, but now I really know just how degraded this particular constellation of sins is, and would not wish it on my worst enemy.

I also witnessed the onset of the "gay plague" (HIV) epidemic, and lost dozens of friends either to a horrible death from AIDS or a self-inflicted suicide just after diagnosis rather than go through what they saw their friends going through.

Amidst all that mess, a sizable percentage -- maybe 20%-- left the lifestyle and got married and had children. I still know some of those people and their children and grandchildren, and their struggle to "be transformed through the renewing of [their] mind" has been well worth the cost.

Here is yesterday's thread showing that conservative-themed movies outsell leftist-themed movies almost five to one, yet Hollywierd, still being populated by leftie freaks in most power positions, isn't ready to change course yet:

Movieguide: ‘Conservative’ movies make more money than ‘liberal’ ones

So don't worry about this generation of American people. Worry about how we can protect the next generation and hold out until we can turn this big ship around again.

A single FLAW?! Deviant sexuality is a FLAW?!

Good God you're kidding!

Is pedophilia a flaw?

Is bestiality a flaw?

Is necrophilia a flaw?

I am appalled. Absolutely appalled.

ever noticed how we don’;t hear much about homosexuals saying they made a mistake and now they are leading healthy traditional lives with children now?

While we have Hollywood etc out there displaying good looking girls kissing then young teen girls will always be manipulated and parents need to know what their children are doing and warn their children about what certain aspects of society are trying to do to them.

They have a right to have an agenda. I agree with that.

They also have a right to be dishonest about their agenda and about those who disagree with them. For both JC Penny and for their opposition, this is about the symbolism and message sent by their hiring of Ellen DeGeneres.

JC Penny and others have portrayed the opposition as an attempt to prevent a citizen the right to work. That is dishonest, since the opposition is clearly focused on the message sent by a family store exalting the lesbian lifestyle.

But JC Penny has a right to be dishonest.

Hey, that's cool!

Hitler did kill a few Jews, started a world war, and had his political enemies tortured to death, but heck, he built the autobahn and the Volkswagen! The Beetle! The Bug. It's so cute, the Volkswagen. Plus, he really, really loved his dog!

And the Germans loved him. He put them back to work! In the Great Depression. They loved him so much they even made up a name for him, Der Fuerher, means Leader.

Only bigots hate....

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that the only place to see good looking lesbians is in porno movies. And they’re just doing it for the money...

In real life, they all look like Ellen or Janet Napolitano.

Americans are not angry at the corporations for nothing. They used to respect successful business leaders and now they do not. Something has gone wrong and it is the CEO’s playing international elitist, self-centered, radical and immoral with their companies’ reputations and resources.

Psychopaths have risen to the top in the void left by liberalism’s cultural cleansing. They will end up bringing it all down without a care and lie without a problem at all. They get whatever marketing “research” the psychopath at the top wants. Corporate culture is way of touch with people outside the limo and up scale bath house.

Thank you. I don’t know how John Cash Penney would be reacting to this. It makes me think of Disney and what happened there after Walt Srs death.

I have shopped there all my life and love the store, but I am really saddened by the Ellen thing because no one considered how people like me feel about such things unless in derision for our view point.

Thanks for your prayers.
