Charlotte, NC --(Ammoland.com)- House Bill 4054 is scheduled to be heard in the state House Health Care Committee on Monday, February 13.
This hearing will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Hearing Room E of the Oregon Capitol. Sponsored by state Representative Jim Thompson (R-23), HB 4054 would prohibit the Public Employees Benefit Board from authorizing or requiring the collection of information or maintenance of records about firearms from eligible employees or family members applying for health benefits.
HB 4054 was introduced after state Senate Republican Leader Ted Ferrioli (R-30) secured commitments from both Kaiser Permanente and the Public Employees Benefit Board to purge gun ownership data that had been collected after implementing a new employee initiative called the Health Engagement Model. After Senator Ferriolis inquiries, both plans dropped the questions related to firearms.
Please call and e-mail members of the state House Health Care Committee TODAY and urge them to support HB 4054. Their contact information can be found below.

Yesterday, Senator Prozanski killed all the Senate gun bills, including reciprocity, because he couldn’t get the pro-gun house to guarantee they’d pass the bill to outlaw concealed carry on school grounds. Prozanski is expected to also kill this CHL privacy bill.
Can you explain to a very puzzled Freeper what, exactly gun ownership has to do with Health Benefits?
Some of your processes baffle me totally.
The excuse is guns (not people) cause injuries which require costly medical treatment. Thus by knowing who ha a gun, Doctors can LECTURE on the medical risks and costs of guns.
IOW an attack on the second amendment through left wing doctors.
