I have listened to a lot of talk radio today. Rush was all over this too. Ive been at work since 9:30 am ...to pay bills and make ends sorta meet, and this story infuriated me to no end (and an accompanying Obamination—free cell phones for the “poor!”)

I was just going to say that years ago Savage claimed that he coined that sentence.

A guy and his wife I know out in Nevada thinks they may get some of dat dere obama mmmm,mmmm,mmm mortgage bailout money. They went bankrupt (third time!) because they were 80k upside down in their townhome. They were the frauds, IMHO.

For example: How many times have you heard Savage talk about the former mayor of S.F. (now Lt. Gov of Calif) Gavin Newsom as "Any two-some Newsom"?
I was listening when a caller from the Bay Area first said that, Savage got a kick out of it, and I have heard him say since that some have stolen "Any two-some Newsom" from him.
So many times he's claimed to be the first and a simple Internet search revealed a myriad of other sources. NO I am not going to provide links to his past shows to prove it.
Other talk show hosts make the same borrrring claims -- including Levin.

Savage of course insults Levin -- and Levin buddies. Some think that Hannity, Rush, et al do not acknowledge Savage's taunts because Levin handles that.

I did hear Levin defend Savage vis-a-vis England. A caller surprised Levin with a question about it. Levin did not react in any fashion. He explained that the banning was wrong. He continued the conversation -- if a caller ever asked Savage about Levin -- for example his dispute with Imus -- I think it's given that Savage would explode into a gusher of obscenities and condemnations of the caller.
Savage is the one who started the name calling , right ?
Savage does not like anyone in talk radio other then himself.
But I think it's important to understand the hostile reception he got when he first went on the air in 1994, I think it was.
Not only "ideology" (he got major hostile reactions from liberal hosts on KSFO's sister station KGO) but also professional jealousy -- he made it all look so easy -- though my recollection is that none of the conservative hosts on KSFO let it show.
Savage did have a bitter dispute with Jim Eason -- a Bay Area radio legend -- I think it had to do with off-air stuff and possibly a relative of Eason's (daughter?).
He did not malign his fellow local hosts, he was not a team player and discredited some of the other hosts' off-air political rallies but nothing real personal like now.
I did think that it was a bit much of Savage to claim that he and he alone was responsible for KSFO's success -- in those days they had a hell of staff, virtually all local except for night time C2C.

He is always using the pet names, but I do not know

Savage can not stand being below anyone.
Office computers? Truck drivers? Plus maybe a lot of people who miss Rush catch his replay on the net from another station, plus a lot of people subscribe to a Rush stream, just guessing.
I knew who Rush was, but I always confused Hannity and Oreilly, as both seem to be Irish.
I have not heard him use Groucho.
Yes, talk shows are businesses and ego driven much like professional sports but the clowns should keep it "inside baseball." IMO.
Maybe my problem is that I experienced the "Fairness Doctrine" from start to finish which I think that it was imposed in the 1940s and lasted until Reagan ended it 1987. I HATED TOP 40 RADIO, PEOPLE!
Thank goodness for the American Opinion (JOHN BIRCH SOCIETY) stores. Though Time and U.S. News & World Report weren't too bad -- and I started reading National Review in 1957.

I don’t really care at this point about levin or savage :)
Babbin and Savage have been playing Santorum clips-he is saying everything they want him to say but they are still hoping Romney wakes up and gets the nomination.
Why?
He will LOSE! (or is that loose? lol)
It doesn’t make sense unless they are both in the pocket of something higher than them, even Levin won’t endorse him officially
He has WON primaries-he is angry and he has chutzpah -
WTH more does he need to do to get attention?
(then again the attention of Savage seems to be a death knell)

I like anyone that preaches traditional American conservatism.
For me, the RINOS are not traditional Americans.
I do not like that William Bennett (has a morning show) was out here in California with Jack Kemp and Jeb Bush calling us Prop 187 supporters bigots and xenophobes -- saying that we destroyed the Calf. Republican Party..
I do recognize and respect the contributions to America all conservatives have made -- I just disagree with them in part.
I do not have a favorite. I will not take sides when the contest is solely ego-driven -- unless it is sports where that belongs. IMO.
