This from “All this to fold a flag...first time I’m proud of my country” Meeshell. Like she cares about our country and military. I know from my dad being in the military and what he said, anytime he started getting a little portly, they got onto him about it and he did something about it. . They don’t need some America hating, affirmative action First Lady running her trap about it. And when did this First Lady and their causes business first occur in our history. I don’t like it. I didn’t like it with Nancy Reagan, and I don’t like it now. It’s just feel-good photo-op stuff that wastes taxpayer money and doesn’t do any good. If Todd Palin or whomever had become the first gentleman, I would expect him to keep a low profile too.

The first time a First Lady had an official ‘cause’ was with Lady Bird Johnson, who made her cause the cleanup of highway shoulders. Eleanor Roosevelt was outspoken during FDR’s reign, but didn’t have a cause (Tractors for Cuba) until well after his death.
